Feels Like Home – A Memorable Stay! We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Charleston US Hwy 17 & I-526 by IHG over Father’s Day weekend, visiting from Nashville, TN for our first family trip to Charleston—and it couldn’t have been better! Ms. Sherrie, the Assistant GM, welcomed us with warmth and even took time to write down local dining and sightseeing suggestions. Molly at the front desk was equally kind and helpful every day. Breakfast was a highlight thanks to Ms. Kim and Ms. Angie, who served up hot food and heartfelt hospitality every morning. They made it feel like home. Our room was always clean and comfortable thanks to Sammy and Tasha in housekeeping—so friendly and attentive. And Mr. Richard from maintenance kept things running smoothly with a smile. Location was good, a Ruby, Tuesday restaurant next-door other restaurants nearby. When we arrived I requested room on the first floor due to my wife’s illness. I was told there was none available so we went to the second floor. We got there unpacked and turned on the air conditioning. Almost immediately there’s a strong odor coming from air-conditioning unit that smelled horribly close to urine. I went to the front desk and report the issue. I was told that there was no other rooms available. Another staff member I assumed might’ve been a manager overheard the conversation and went to the room with me. The moment she entered the room. She smelled it and told me to follow her back to the lobby. Miraculously they found a room on the first floor, which is available.🤔 I don’t know if that’s some kind of policy where they would hold back a room for emergencies, but I don’t care if a personal room is available when I asked for it initially it should’ve been granted. The room is average. The breakfast is subpar.

Clean room and very nice front desk staff. Bed was comfortable and clean. Hotel is generally clean in the hallways but furniture looks scuffed up. Good price for a clean room in a safe area. Only one elevator that was slow.
