I’m a disabled person who travels with a service dog and my caregivers. I was harassed and discriminated against by several in the staff including the manager, who said he would be offering me a refund and instead refunded $286 on a $700 reservation. Unacceptable and against ADA law.

My friends and I came on a girls trip. This hotel was incredibly affordable compared to the other hotels around the area. It is right by some of the best shopping on King Street, only about a 12 to 15 minute walk to some of the best restaurants and market. It was extremely safe and very conveniently located. Would highly recommend. It was also very quaint and beautiful inside. The rooms were spacious (besides the bathroom) and it had all the amenities you could need.

This hotel is one of my favorites. It is the perfect spot to see all of downtown Charlestown. The food is amazing!! We had room service two nights and the food was top notch and the staff who brought our food were the nicest. We used the valet parking and the young kid that helped us was just the sweetest. We needed extra shampoo one night and within five minutes of calling we had shampoo. Love everything about this hotel and would never stay anywhere else.

The air conditioning in our room was not working, but the staff was helpful and promptly moved us to another room where everything worked perfectly. The room was spacious, and we had great views of Charleston, King Street, and the Cooper River from our 6th-floor hotel suite. The hotel is in a fantastic location right across from Marion Square and within walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely stay at the Francis Marion hotel again.

Property has great architectural features and common spaces. Very centrally located with a farmers market in front of the hotel across the street at the park. Walkable to everywhere and very friendly staff. Restaurant on bottom floor had good food and very good service.

While looking for a place to stay in Charleston, this hotel had great reviews. I am sure it is great for most of it's guests, but that was not our experience. We did not have cold water in the shower and when we inquired about it, was told there was an issue with the water. No big deal, but it also happened to be an extremely hot week so not having cooler water in the shower was not ideal. There was also an issue with the A/C. Our room would not cool down and instead of being able to move rooms, we were given a box fan - which only moved the warm air around. With it being so hot not only while we were out enjoying Charleston, but when we got back to the hotel room, we cut our trip short and only stayed the first night. The staff did apologize when we checked out. Perhaps if it had not been so hot our experience would have been better.

Fantastic 1920s grand hotel, kept up in the grand condition. Fantastic, friendy staff, great onsite restaurant, bar , with great food. Breakfast ,lunch and dinner. The Aquarium and Maratime museum are fanstaic, boat site seeing cruise and tons of restaurants Close by.
