Located between Mudhouse Coffee and Rockfish Brewing Company, The Townsman sits directly above Charlottesville's vibrant Downtown Mall, surrounded by restaurants, bars, shops, and entertainment. It was a delightful stay! Being located on the downtown mall was such a treat. We visited a couple of wineries and it was enjoyable to get away for the weekend and truly relax. Thanks for the great atmosphere!

Wonderful location on the mall in Charlottesville.

This was perfect for our long weekend in Charlottesville. We enjoyed Monticello and various wineries. Had a wonderful meal at Public Fish and Oyster. Also visit Crush Pad, nearly across the street from the room.

The room was new and modern, with great amenities. It was frustrating not having regular cable channels, just streaming. The navigation and check-in information sent before check-in was very confusing. The road to the bag drop location was closed for construction, so navigation to the hotel was even more complex. Eliminate the photos and maps in the instructions; just give GPS addresses for the parking, drop off, and hotel. Finally, the check-out requirements were very unfriendly, and to threaten a charge of 35 if we didn't obey was outlandish!

Perfect location

This was such a nice place to stay! I haven’t slept so well in a hotel prob ever! Very comfortable and clean. I loathe a barn door on a bathroom but I get the aesthetic they were going for. There were a lot of unhoused people right in front of the building all day and night but they aren’t going to bother anyone. Had a wonderful stay!
