This room is named in honor of a renowned explorer who stayed here when the château was a famous hotel from 1968 to 1982.
Located on the garden level of the Tour de Neuville, it’s easily accessible. Recently restored in the spirit of the 15th/16th centuries, it welcomes you with a canopy bed, panoramic décor, and a “Cluny” stained glass window. The bathroom, created in a former oratory, features a walk-in shower, sink, and toilet. Cool in summer thanks to its northern exposure with views of the river and Italian poplars, it’s cozy in winter with heating.
Château de Château-l'Évêque, just 7 km from Périgueux and 15 km from Brantôme, offers a unique historic setting for lovers of history and romance. The Saint-Vincent Suite, on the 2nd floor of a 14th-century tower, features a canopy bed, lounge with sofa bed, bath and shower, separate WC, and panoramic views over the park and rooftops. The Jenny Suite, on the 1st floor, charms with 18th-century fabric walls, canopy bed, an alcove with a single bed, and park views. On the garden level, the Explorer’s Room evokes the 16th century with a canopy bed and walk-in shower. The English-style park, filled with hydrangeas and roses, is crossed by a large canal lined with centuries-old trees, a 17th-century bridge, Belvedere, and gazebo—a perfect setting for summer strolls.
