The pool was shut down for the first two days of our stay due to “sanitation” issues, which was a complete bummer to our children. Otherwise, the hotel was just OK. would stay again but probably won’t.

Staff is courteous and professional. Great location walkable to Field Museum and aquarium and felt safe. The best free breakfast with variety each day, quality food and clean. Rooms have plenty of space, bed comfortable, pillows need improving. I’d stay here again. Quality for the price.

The service desk downstairs was very understanding. Although this hotel is for 21 y/o, the other hotel in the building is family friendly... expect kids in pool and hot tub. Breakfast was amazing.

The staff (especially valet) was friendly so that always makes up for the negatives. My family and I came here for a weekend and were without internet our entire stay. Front desk simply said that it would not work. We also wanted to use the pool on Saturday night, as we have small children and weren’t here to party. It was closed due to maintenance, and when we returned on Sunday to use the pool/hot tub, it was still closed. We had to checkout before we were able to use it, if it even reopened. We had a corner room suite and paid $300 a night. I knew there wasn’t any other rooms like ours available so I just sucked it up. But to pay $300 a night for a room with no internet and no swimming pool defeats the purpose of me choosing this location. There was gum stuck to the carpet in our hotel room. There was also food stuck in the carpet right beside the bed. I didn’t want to complain and ruin our vacation, or take the little time that we had to switch to a lesser quality room, as we only had a short time, so that is why I’m leaving this review instead. I would not book at this location again. It just wasn’t worth the money that I paid for it.

Nice hotel, too bad it smells

The staff here is great, very responsive, friendly and helpful. Great views and location, but oh my goodness, the smells. When I checked in, I was put in a room that smelled like a freezer with something rotten in it. I asked to change rooms, and they immediately switched me (thanks again to the great staff), but this smelled like air freshener over cigarettes and marijuana. It’s a non-smoking hotel, but wherever the vents are pulling fresh air from must be getting it from a smoking patio or something, because every time the hvac ran, it pumped more and more cigarette and marijuana smells in, and when I asked about it, they mentioned that they do hear that feedback with some frequency. Anyway, nice room, great staff, smelled awful and worse any time the heater kicked on.

I was a little bit scared because of some others reviews. My experience was excellent. The staff was super friendly. We didn’t have any problem with the breakfast nor the elevators. We arrived early for the checkout. Room wasn’t ready but they hold our bags so we can explore the city while waiting for the check in. I would recommend this hotel.

Didnt like how we had to pay valet $70 and the guy expected a tip. There was no self parking. Also the pillows were too soft. Silly thing, but no matter how many you stacked you sank through them. Breakfast was decent. They have set menu for it but able to have yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, and cereal daily. Coffee was actually really good for hotel coffee! The pool looked nice, but too many people were swimming so we didnt get to check it out. The lady who checked me in was a bit snippy with me.

Week in February! Loved it

We had a brilliant stay at the Hilton Homeward Suites, the room was wonderful and just right for our family needs. To have a kitchenette , a lovely view of Grant Park and comfortable beds was great. The house keeping service was really good and cleaning every 2 days worked out great for us as we were there for 7 nifgts. When my daughter’s comforters got mixed up in the sheets and had an industrial wash, they were brilliant and found them for us, we were very grateful. I only have 2 reservations about our stay, the amount of plastic waste from breckfast by using plastic cutlery and plates when we are trying to reduce plastic waste globally seemed such a shame, and I would have thought that Hilton as a brand would try and come up with a better solution. Also the chlorine in the pool was very strong , so both my kids had very dry and sometimes red skin after being in the pool, apart from this we rate our stay at the hotel really highly, fantastic experience
