Looking forward to next stay at a Riu Hotel

This was my first stay at a Riu Hotel. It was outstanding on every level - service, atmosphere, cleanliness - you name it. The breakfast was outstanding - state of the art buffet - well-stocked and very tasty. Location is fabulous - just a block off Miracle Mile. Will definitely stay again.

The hotel was great but we were hit with an unexpected $50 charge at checking that wasn’t noted when booking the room. I might have chosen a different hotel if I had known about this charge. It kinda ruined my thoughts on the hotel, but overall the experience was positive

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Centrally located. Breakfast is a feast. One of the best hotel breakfasts I have experienced. Roof top bar has a terrific view of the City and perfect for an evening cocktail. They don't have their own parking. I think this is typical for downtown so I recommend figuring that out before you arrive.

Great location and vibe!

Beautiful hotel, perfect location, outstanding breakfast! Housekeeping skipped us one day and then when we asked for the room to be cleaned they forgot to leave all the clean towels we were supposed to have but other than that the stay was excellent! We will be back!

Breakfast buffet was the best I have seen in any business class hotel - great variety, fresh, fully stocked. The hotel is new and beautifully decorated; the roof top bar has a great view and not too expensive. Fast elevators. The location is perfect for easily going to Michigan Avenue, The Navy Pier, catching a boat tour, etc.

Stayed 2 nights in sept, everything was nice and clean. very good breakfast buffet and breakfast staff were very friendly. Front desk gentleman ok but not very welcoming for a good hotel where you're the first impression. room and bed comfortable but no ice bucket or machines, card needs to be placed in slot for room electrics to work, no air exhaust in our bathroom, and after I asked for a/c to be looked at and no-one showed I pulled out cover and reset system myself. front door people were very friendly.

Very Disappointing in that price point.

Wi-Fi was irritating. Had to reload (add name and PW) with each use. Never used the TV because we could not get in. The pillows were so large (fat) my wife didn't use them and i got a backache after the first night. You should have instructions on how to use the shower faucet or just get a normal faucet. Cool looking gadgets are not always useful. You demonstrated that. My wife and i are retired and we travel a LOT. Worst of all the front desk customer service was marginal. Although most of the other employees were great. Breakfast was superb. location is ideal.

Nice hotel but service lacking in areas

Beautiful room, excellent breakfast, ideal location. I did request an extra blanket which was delivered promptly but upon unfolding it I discovered it was stiff and had visible dirt on it. They delivered a clean one when requested. Only other complaint, my 24 year old son, who was also staying at the hotel, was waiting for me in the lobby. He went to the front desk to ask where a restroom was located and they told him they didn’t have one in the lobby area. I asked where the restrooms were in the lobby area and they pointed me right to them. Disappointing.
