We had a very good stay overall and would definitely consider staying here again. The price was excellent for the location, and it was only about a 15–20 minute walk to the train, making it easy to get into the city. The neighborhood felt safe and had several great restaurants nearby.The unit is in an older apartment building, but it’s clear the hosts are putting effort into updating it, and we appreciated the improvements they’ve already made. The host was also very responsive and easy to communicate with throughout our stay.The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that there were a few minor issues. The flooring and cabinets are quite dated, there was a slight smoke smell at times, and we could hear some noise from the upstairs unit. None of these things ruined our stay, but they kept it from being a perfect experience.Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and felt it was a great value for the price. We’d happily stay here again if we return to the area.

It was perfect for what we needed, just a place to sleep in Oak Park. The price was reasonable until the surprise 100 cleaning fee for a less than 24 hour stay. I blame myself for not looking sooner and limiting my options. The host was extremely responsive and helped us figure out when we had trouble with check in. I have no complaints about the host, because he was great, but the cleaning fee should have been up front. I think this is a newer host and something just wasn't set up right for him. I don't blame him, but I would have just checked into a hotel for the short time of our stay based on what I ultimately ended up paying.
