Our family recently stayed in Serenity of Evanston, and had a great stay. The location of the apartment is great, within an easy walk of a number of shops and restaurants, as well as both an L station and a Metra station. The lakefront and Northwestern campus are also a reasonable walk away; the Evanston Farmer's Market was an easy walk on Saturday morning and very worthwhile too. Yet despite the in town location, there's also reserved indoor parking, which just can't be beat. Basically, you can get wherever you need to easily by walking, car, and/or public transit. The apartment is modern and in very good condition. It's not large by any means -- some parts of the apartment felt a bit cramped -- but it was big enough for our family of 3. All of the standard stuff is there, including -- quite importantly -- a washer and dryer. The property managers were exceptionally responsive, always responding quickly to any questions I might have.Do be aware that the apartment is very much "in town": despite very good soundproofing, you will get city sounds. In particular, you will hear the Metra trains going by at various times of day. We didn't find it to be at all bothersome -- and the trade-off for the great location was well worth it -- but it's something to be aware of if you're sensitive to those sorts of things.Overall, a great stay.
