Fully refurbished in 2024 but Rooms not all as the images show. Some are clearly not refurbished and are dated. So be mindful that what you see when booking may not be what you get. I booked a Junior Suite, the room I got looked and felt cold and empty, dated and not as the images when I booked. Reception staff were great at getting me moved to a more modern, comfortable and relaxing room. Although I could hear the rodents scurrying around in the ceiling! Dinner here was excellent. I had the Chicken curry which was great.

poor service as no idea why the fire alarm kept going off. When went to ask confirmed that maybe because of the sauna door being left open. Advised it is the middle of the night and now have a crying baby who has woke up. Not the best service, as was not made aware of this before purchase. Seemed as though this was normal practice, as no worker seemed concerned, yet people staying there were all worried about what to do.

Slow check in, needed all of details again. Staff reporting that they do not normally work on reception. Room needed decorated, chipped paint. Very loud music until early hours. Lift out of order. Limited breakfast, no fries eggs and hot buffet not topped up while we were there (over 1 hour). Staff attempted to charge again for breakfast on check out, had to show my on line banking to prove payment from check in. No parking available near the hotel reception.

Staff lovely and helpful but No lifts , lifts broken , in 60’s and struggled to climb 48 stairs up and down 3.5 times . Didn’t go out of room due to this. Mattress needs replacing on 1 side of bed , could feel springs, ( 2 beds in 1 large bed ). Quilt cover not big enough, turned the other way but quilt cover didn’t fasten .

The staff could not do enough for you... The rooms were spotless, very clean... Amenities.. The spa was OK, lights in changing room not working & no spa treatments were available... Having said that the staff were fantastic & that made up for the whole experience.... The food in the restaurant at night was top class

The spa was excellent and friendly helpful staff there and on reception. Sadly when I tried twice to ask for a hairdryer from reception no one answered. So that was extra trips from second floor to reception as the lift isn’t working! I did get a hairdryer an hour later, none in my room.

I have stayed here 6 times over the last 3 months. All for long weekends, 4 night stays. 1st visit = leaky roof in suite/room 216 & the 2nd floor starwell. It was absolutely SOAKING! I reported it and moved rooms. A member of staff took it personnally and followed me around eye balling me for the remainder of my stay. He was extremely hostile. 2nd visit = 1 bedroom cottage, a rat/squirel had eaten through the exterior wall and was in the kitchen attempting to get in to the bedroom at 2am. I reported it and was moved rooms. 3rd, 4th, & 5th visits = 2 bedroom cottage, amazing! The best visits I'd had. 6th visit = 2 bedroom cottage, 5 night stay. The room cleaning staff were reluctant to clean my room? I mentioned it time and time again to the reception and it felt like cleaning my room was an inconvenience? To the extent I walked in to the cottage on day 3 and the cleaner had done NOTHING except place 3 large towels and a bag of hot drink ingredients on the coffee table? It wasn't the best experience. Since my last stay I have decided I will no longer be staying at the hotel, for as much as the hotel has a lot of potential I don't want the headache of requesting the simple things that should be there.

Great Gym and swimming pool, staff - polite but not very good, lift not working(a pain if your on the 2nd floor, and your of some years, and no staff to help you with your bags), just an old tired place, having a re- vamp, but not ready yet.
