The Space:
Applewood Cabin 1 by Tiny Away sits in the peaceful suburbs of Harewood, South Island, New Zealand. This cozy retreat is just 20 minutes from the heart of Christchurch and conveniently located near a bus stop right outside the property, offering easy access to everything the city offers.

Whether you're visiting Christchurch or heading to other destinations across the South Island, our holiday home is the perfect starting point for your next great adventure. For golf enthusiasts, the PGA-rated Clearwater Golf Club is just a short drive away. Get close to wildlife at Willowbank Reserve or enjoy the outdoors at McLeans Forest. With Riverside Market just a bus-ride away (#27 bus down Gardiners Road) nearby, you'll have the best of nature and city life at your doorstep.

A cozy 139-square-foot (13m2) tiny home and one of Harewood’s charming holiday homes with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).


If you plan to spend your holiday here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities such as food during your stay with us.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are two Tiny Away cabins available on this property (Applewood Cabin 1 & 2), that can accommodate 2 adults per cabin. If you would like to do group booking, please contact your land host 24 hrs in advance to make arrangements.

Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the tiny house and are welcome to explore the apple orchard.

Seasonal Apple Picking (Autumn) – Feel free to pick and enjoy fresh apples straight from the tree! The orchard is completely spray-free.

Honesty Stall – Occasionally, you’ll find handmade cookies and fresh produce available for purchase.

Getting Around:
By car:

- The property is just a 6-minute drive from Christchurch Airport.
- Accessible with a standard 2WD car on normal roads.

By public transport:

- The 107 Bus outside the property takes you to Belfast Supa Centa; across the road, it heads to Northlands Mall.
- Bus 27, further down the road, connects you directly to Christchurch’s city center (CBD).
- Taxis and Uber are available.

By flight:

- Christchurch International Airport is a short 6-minute drive, making this a convenient spot for travelers flying in.
- Pickup or drop off at the Airport, please book in advance $35 per trip

Other Things to Note:
- Wi-Fi is available.
- Gas BBQ Grill is provided for your use.
- Brita water-filter jug available for fresh, filtered water.
- No smoking is allowed on the property.
- Unregistered guests or visitors are not permitted.
- Please only walk on the mowed flat grass around the orchard.
- Good mobile reception is available for all telco networks.
- Before leaving, please close all windows and lock doors.
- Turn off lights, air conditioning, and electronics (especially chargers) when not in use.
- Extended stays or late check-outs will incur an additional charge.

Important Notes:

- The property is home to abundant wildlife, including Pukeko, which may be present in the surrounding areas.
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee applies to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the cassette toilets. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience.
- Only biodegradable cleaning products should be washed down the sinks. No washing or cleaning of raw fish in the sink.
- Please do not dispose of sanitary products in the RV toilet—use the bin provided instead.
