Property is right across the Victoria Square and for about one mile walk you can get to the Christchurch botanical gardens and Hagley Park and the busy shopping food district. The Te Pae convention center is also next door. The hotel staff is very friendly. The condition of the hotel is pretty new. However, when we get into our room, we found long strains of hair under our pillow and in the towels. Parking is limited and we had to park far next to the seagull pit. Definitely throwing some dampness to our enthusiasm to this hotel chain.

Excellent hotel in great location. Close to New Regent St, the gardens, tram and river. Very central and easy walk to everything. Rooms are well appointed, clean and spacious. Decor is on point and modern. Loved the bathroom and amenities supplied.

We’ve been touring New Zealand and have stayed in a number of places. The staff was nice. The facility was nice and spotless. The bar was nice. The TV had a number of channels and it was easy to stream. In fact, most everything was very nice. Our two complaints involved the loud elevator “dings” from operation during the night and the buffet breakfast which lacked enough help to make things move smoothly and keep the supply of food available. Nonetheless, if we returned to Christchurch we would probably stay at the Crown Plaza again.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was not so great as I found 2 pieces of mouldy bread the first day and the waiter took them with no apology, the next few days the 2 so called clean juice cups were loaded with orange juice pulp. The food was simple and the eggs took over 20 minutes to arrive. Overall they did not seem to care or have pride in the restaurant.
