Summary:
Mornings at Firefly tend to start with the water. Launch a kayak, grab a paddleboard, or wander down your own private pontoon to see what the lake’s up to today. As the day unfolds, everyone moves at their own pace, some heading out, others lingering on the decking, maybe even sneaking in a little journal entry at the dedicated desk-space before a well-earned soak in the hot tub. Come evening, fire up the BBQ, gather on the wraparound decking, and watch the sun sink over the lake.
The Space:
Firefly Lodge sleeps up to eleven guests across four bedrooms. The principal bedroom features a king-size bed and en-suite, with a second bedroom that can be set as twin beds or a super-king bed, and a bunk room with a double bed below and a single above. There’s also two single beds in a mezzanine loft, and a ground-floor bedroom suite, ideal for guests who prefer fewer stairs. The house has three bathrooms in total.
Inside, the open-plan living, kitchen and dining area is made for time together, with plenty of space to relax, cook and eat as a group. You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with appliances and cookware, an 89” Smart TV, fast and reliable WiFi, and everything you need for longer stays. Wildsmith Skin toiletries are included with every stay, along with bed linen, towels and robes for every guest.
Outside, you’ll have enclosed, wraparound lakeside decking with a private hot tub, an outdoor table for al fresco drinking and dining, a charcoal BBQ, a private pontoon with direct lake access, plus two kayaks and two paddleboards included.
Guest Access:
You’ll have full private use of the house, decking, hot tub and pontoon throughout your stay. Parking is available on site, with two allocated spaces and additional room for visitors.
Check in from 3PM and check out by 10AM. You can arrive at your own pace with self check-in via key box, just give us a call if you have any issues.
The Neighborhood:
Set within the beautiful Cotswold Lakes, you’re surrounded by over 180 lakes, woodland trails and quiet village lanes. The landscape feels open, green and peaceful in every direction. It's the perfect space to be active and explore, ideal for cycling, paddle-boarding, or just walking and enjoying the abundant wildlife and fresh air.
South Cerney is only a few minutes away and is one of the area’s most established villages. Think traditional stone cottages, small, friendly shops, lovely pubs and delightful cafés. Tree-lined lanes and village greens all lead directly towards scenic lakeside routes, so nature’s nearby even when you’re shopping.
Cirencester is about 10-15 minutes by car and offers boutique shopping, restaurants, markets, and a rich sense of history. Kemble Station is also close, with direct trains into London, making this spot practical for quick weekend visits as well as longer stays.
Other Things to Note:
The house is dog-friendly. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome (£35 per dog). A travel cot and highchair are available, and decoration services can be arranged for special occasions.
Quiet hours run from 10.30PM to 8AM, and we ask guests to respect the peaceful setting: No parties, and no smoking indoors.
Interaction with Guests:
Everybody finds peace in a different way, and that’s how it should be. From the moment you book, you decide the pace, and we’ll be there to help you plan, and create moments that really matter. It’s that little extra layer of support we offer to make sure everything runs smoothly. Thoughtful service, that never gets in the way of a good moment.
Whether that means a slow morning with a fresh pot of tea and a long soak, or a day out exploring neighbourhoods and nature - we’ll guide you, so it all unfolds just the way you’ve pictured it.
