Interesting building but uncomfortable stay

The historic building is interesting and could make for a unique stay, however the acoustics make the lobby and common spaces incredibly loud and chaotic even when not especially crowded. The rooms are pretty small and the “amenities” are lackluster at best. The room: We were hoping for a slightly nicer than average hotel with some amenities to enjoy a winter holiday weekend as the temps would likely have us spending more time in the hotel. The hotel was sold out the first night we arrived so understandably felt crowded. The staff were efficient and friendly enough checking us in. I called ahead and mentioned again the request for a rollaway bed at check in and was told it would be sent up. After not receiving it after several hours I called down to the front desk and was told that all rollaway beds were in use. I inquired about having them for our 2 following nights and was assured one would be available, reserved for us and sent up in the morning. My 5 year old bunked with us that night and we hoped for a better night sleep for the remaining nights of our trip. Getting the bed the next night AGAIN required several calls despite being told it was reserved and scheduled for delivery. The room felt cramped with three of us and every door, footstep conversation could be heard through the walls. The Valet: This was easily the worst part of our trip. The valet crew was likely understaffed and did appear to have a system for arranging pick up/drop offs. The first morning it t

The property is incredible. They only issue I have, that is admittedly my fault, is that when they saw one of the party coming in in a wheelchair, they SHOULD have asked if we needed an accessible room. I thought I made that reservation, but mistakenly did not. I feel it behooves the folk at the front desk, to ask such questions.
