Step into history at The Brigade, recently restored to showcase the grandeur of the Gold Rush era. Built in the 1870s as ‘The Fire Brigade Hotel’ to serve miners, it fell into disrepair and remained vacant since the 1970s. In late 2021, father & son Shaun and Ethan began extensive restoration works, completing it in early 2025. Now ready to be enjoyed once more, we have hand crafted your stay to the finest detail. Cozy, charming, and perfectly located, The Brigade promises a memorable trip. Located on the iconic Fraser St in Clunes, enjoy the peaceful town right outside the front doors. The 12-seat Jimmy Possum dining table offers a perfect setting for gathering with friends and family, creating an inviting atmosphere for shared meals and conversations. Step out onto the balcony to embrace the fresh air and breathtaking views of the historic Fraser Street. It’s an ideal spot for enjoying your morning coffee, unwinding in the afternoon, or soaking in the evening breeze. The back deck offers a serene retreat, perfect for relaxation and quiet moments. Whether you want to read a book, enjoy a drink, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings, the space creates a calm atmosphere that invites you to unwind and recharge. In the beds, sleep peacefully on luxurious Tempur Pro mattresses, designed to provide ultimate comfort and support. Whether you’re in the roomy master suite or any other bed, they ensure a restful night’s sleep, allowing you to wake up refreshed and ready to enjoy the day. With year-round climate control via our 33kW Hitachi system, you can always enjoy the ideal temperature, no matter the season. If you’re looking to go out and explore, we are: - 20 minutes to Ballarat, including Mars Stadium. - 30 minutes to Daylesford & Hepburn Springs. - 10 minutes to nearby towns such as Talbot and Creswick. - Nearby to many trail walks & rides, wineries, parks and museums. Enjoy the entire property to yourself, offering ample space, modern amenities, and a private, comfortable retreat for your stay. We are available during daytime hours and can be reached through Air BnB or by phone for any questions or assistance you may need. Given we use sofa beds for additional bedding options, please advise upon booking whether you would prefer each set up as a couch or bed. The functionality between the two is very straightforward, but for your convenience we will have it prepared as per your preference.
