The bedrooms and bathroom are on the ground floor, which leaves the entire first floor for the open-plan living room, kitchen and dining room, which is a great space to spend time with your family and friends. Situated in The Vale of Lorton, which runs from Cockermouth down to Crummock Water and Buttermere, the quaint village of High Lorton has a little shop and an excellent village pub and restaurant. This lovely property is situated within the village, which makes Melbreak a great choice for those who prefer a more rural location. High Lorton is very popular with walkers and cyclists, thanks to its easy access to some amazing walks and cycle routes, including the Whinlatter Visitor Centre, 3¾ miles. With free access to England’s only true mountain forest, rising 1000ft above sea level, it provides a range of activities for all ages, from forest mountain trails to the high rope adventure course, Go Ape, and an excellent play area and Gruffalo Trail specifically for younger children. You can also hire bikes or visit the café, it really is a great day out for all ages. Beach 12 miles. Shop 350 yards, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
