SOARING SPIRIT — A HOT-AIR-BALLOON-THEMED 5-BEDROOM HARVEST-SEASON RETREAT IN WALLA WALLA WINE COUNTRY
Bringing the whole crew to Walla Walla for harvest season? Picture everyone under one roof at Soaring Spirit: the hot tub steaming in the cool evening air, a fire going inside while the rain taps the windows, a pool tournament in one game room and the arcade lit up in another, and a long dinner coming together across two full kitchens while somebody pours the bottle you picked up that afternoon. This is the home your family will still be talking about years later.
A fall getaway for twelve should not mean a row of hotel rooms, a group scattered across town, and six phone calls to find a restaurant that seats everybody. It should feel easy. Soaring Spirit gives your family or your friends one warm, playful, thoughtfully stocked place to gather, spread out, and actually be together when the days get short. Unpack once, pour a local glass, and let the trip begin.
WHY GROUPS CHOOSE SOARING SPIRIT IN THE FALL
- Sleeps up to 12 across 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, with a KING bed in every bedroom — real room to spread out, not bunks in a basement
- TWO full kitchens, so a harvest dinner or a full Thanksgiving never turns into a traffic jam
- A private hot tub, heated year-round and open 24 hours — at its best on a cold valley night
- An indoor fireplace, plus a s'mores-ready fire pit with Adirondack seating outside
- Two game rooms with a pool table, arcade machines, and a digital game table, plus a movie room with a 72-inch screen — a grey October afternoon is never a problem
- Three miles to downtown Walla Walla and minutes from dozens of award-winning wineries
- Spotless, deeply stocked, and backed by proactive five-star hosting
THE SPACE — ROOM FOR TWELVE, AND CORNERS FOR EVERYONE
Soaring Spirit was designed so a big group can be together without being on top of each other. Three living areas mean the kids' movie, the card game, and the quiet conversation all happen at once.
- 5 bedrooms, each with a KING bed, quality linens, extra pillows and blankets, blackout shades, a smart TV, and playful LED accents
- Two queen sofa beds in the living areas bring the home to a comfortable twelve
- 4 full bathrooms stocked with towels, toiletries, and hair dryers, with plenty of hot water for a full house
- Three living and lounge areas and 9 smart TVs throughout
- Dining for the whole group: a main room seating 8, a downstairs table seating 8 to 10, and two breakfast nooks
- Central heat and air conditioning, ceiling fans, and an indoor fireplace for cool valley evenings
- In-home laundry with a washer and multiple dryers — genuinely useful on a longer fall stay
TWO FULL KITCHENS — BUILT FOR HARVEST DINNERS AND THANKSGIVING
Anyone who has cooked for twelve knows one kitchen is never enough. Soaring Spirit gives you two, both the real thing: stainless steel appliances, full-size refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, cookware, dishes, and wine glasses. Lay out a cheese board on one island while the roast comes out of the other oven. Each kitchen has its own coffee station with a Keurig and a drip machine, because twelve people do not share one pot of coffee gracefully.
This is what makes Soaring Spirit a genuine holiday house. One family wrote afterward: "We had the privilege to host Thanksgiving here and it was remarkable! Peaceful, private, safe, beautiful!" If you are hosting the holiday this year, you will not run out of counter space, oven racks, or places to sit down together.
WHEN THE VALLEY TURNS — THE BACKYARD IN FALL
The backyard does not close when summer ends. It gets better.
- A private hot tub, heated year-round and open 24 hours — the ritual groups come back for after a day in the tasting rooms
- A fire pit with Adirondack seating, ready for s'mores and late-night conversation
- An outdoor fireplace, a barbecue grill, and covered outdoor dining for twelve
- Mountain views, with the Blue Mountains turning color a short drive east
PLAY WITHOUT LEAVING THE HOUSE
Shorter days and the occasional grey afternoon are exactly when this house earns its keep.
- GAME ROOM ONE: Pool table, kids' play zone, wall games, board games, and puzzles
- GAME ROOM TWO: NFL Blitz arcade, Pac-Man, a multi-game arcade table, smart TV, and lounge seating
- MOVIE ROOM: A dedicated theater room with a 72-inch smart TV and plush seating
- INDOOR FIREPLACE: The natural gathering point once the sun goes down at five
- OUTDOOR GAMES: Cornhole, spike ball, lawn darts, axe throwing, and more for bright fall days
- Fast Wi-Fi for streaming and remote work, and an EV charger on site
HARVEST SEASON IN WALLA WALLA WINE COUNTRY
Soaring Spirit sits in College Place, three miles from downtown Walla Walla, on a quiet residential street with the whole valley in easy reach. Fall is the valley's most rewarding season — the crush is running, the tasting rooms are pouring, and the crowds have thinned.
WINERIES AND TASTING ROOMS
- Seven Hills Winery — 11 minutes
- Bledsoe Family Winery — 12 minutes
- Force Majeure Vineyards — 14 minutes
- L'Ecole No 41 Winery — 18 minutes
- Walla Walla Vintners — 20 minutes
- Dozens of downtown tasting rooms — 8 to 10 minutes
WORTH PLANNING AROUND THIS FALL
- Harvest and crush run through September and October, when many wineries open the doors for behind-the-scenes tours and barrel samples
- Fall Release Weekend, the first weekend of November, when the valley's wineries pour their newest vintages and winemakers are on hand
- Thanksgiving week, when a five-bedroom house with two kitchens stops being a luxury and starts being the whole point
NEARBY AND CONVENIENT
- Andy's Market for fresh produce and specialty items — a quarter mile away
- Walmart, Chipotle, Del Taco, Subway, Papa Murphy's, and Hop Thief Taphouse — all within walking distance
- Wine Valley Golf Club — 14 minutes
- Blue Mountain hiking and scenic country roads — a short drive east
- Walla Walla Regional Airport — 15 minutes
Parking is never an issue: a three-car garage plus driveway and street parking for up to nine vehicles. A car is the easiest way to explore the valley — rideshare here is thinner than in a big city, so plan on driving.
