About this property

November at Black Bear Chateau — Your Fall Getaway

Escape to the Black Bear Chateau this November, where the air is crisp, the colors are golden, and the pace slows to the rhythm of the Rockies. Nestled near the heart of Colorado Springs, our cozy retreat is the perfect hideaway for those who want to experience the magic of fall — without the stress.

A Thanksgiving to Remember — Without the Work
Forget the endless cooking and cleanup! Enjoy a stress-free Thanksgiving surrounded by mountain views and pine-scented air.
I provide a curated list of local eateries and bakeries that specialize in full Thanksgiving meals, from perfectly roasted turkey to decadent sides — all ready for pickup or dine-in.

Want a touch of home?
Pick up your favorite pie or sweet treat from one of our beloved local bakeries — like Boonzaaijer’s Dutch Bakery, famous for its flaky crusts and rich cream pies, or Marigold Café & Bakery, known for its indulgent French desserts. Then come back to Black Bear Chateau, brew a warm cup of coffee, and settle in for a relaxing holiday movie night — with plenty of cozy classics ready to stream on our Roku TV.

The Beauty of November in Colorado Springs
November is one of Colorado Springs’ best-kept secrets — the crowds have faded, but the city is alive with seasonal charm.

Here’s what you can enjoy during your stay:
*Stroll through Garden of the Gods as the red rocks glow against autumn skies.

*Ride the Pikes Peak Cog Railway for breathtaking mountain views dusted with early snow.

*Explore Old Colorado City and Downtown, where cozy cafes, art galleries, and boutiques sparkle with early holiday spirit.

*Attend fall festivals, local craft markets, and art walks that celebrate the season.

*Visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Electric Safari (late November), where twinkling lights turn the mountainside into a winter wonderland.

Cozy Comforts Await
At Black Bear Chateau, you’ll find everything you need to unwind. Warm, inviting interiors with rustic mountain charm; comfy, overstuffed chairs, perfect for cocao and converstaiton; peaceful surroundings to watch the last leaves fall — or spot a real black bear wandering nearby!

Whether you’re planning a Thanksgiving weekend escape, a small family reunion, or a romantic fall retreat, Black Bear Chateau offers the perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and Colorado magic.

Book your November stay today — and discover just how beautiful, peaceful, and stress-free Thanksgiving can be in the mountains.

Some Helpful Things to Know Before You Book

-To help ensure your stay at Black Bear Chateau is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, here are a few details to be aware of before you arrive:

-Access: Guests should be able to safely go up and down two flights of stairs to reach the private entrance to the Chateau. Take your time — you’re on mountain time now.

-Altitude: Colorado Springs sits at an elevation of 6,035 feet above sea level. If you’re visiting from lower elevations, give yourself a little time to adjust and take things slowly on arrival.

-Weather & Travel: The Colorado weather can be full of surprises — summer may bring the occasional hailstorm, while winter often brings snow and ice. During the colder months, we recommend a vehicle with all-wheel or four-wheel drive for peace of mind.

-Your Space: Black Bear Chateau occupies the private, locked-off lower level of a spacious 5,500 sq. ft. home. The host family resides on the upper two levels, but your area is completely private, with your own entrance, sound barriers, and secured access. You can come and go freely, and if you need anything at all, your hosts are just a text away.
