Not great but at least clean

I reserved an executive king room but when we arrived, the manager said they didn’t have any available that had been renovated so she recommended (without compensation) that we downgrade to a king room that had been renovated. It was ok but nothing great. Other items of note that could be easily remedied - we got TINY shampoo and soap bottles. It was barely enough for one person and not environmentally friendly. Putting dispensers in the shower, especially a newly renovated room would have been better. There were also NO shelves in the shower - nothing to set the soap or bottles on. Again, for a room that has just been redone, that was a miss. You also had to walk across the main hall to get from the shower to the sink which meant that unless you were completely dry, the floor of the hotel room was likely to get wet. Breakfast was ok, not great. The only fruit was apples and only packets of oatmeal. (Oatmeal is a pretty inexpensive hot breakfast item…) The air conditioner must have had something wrong with it. It kept chirping - continuous - sound like crickets or cicadas were in the room. Had the sound been rhythmic, we could have slept because it would have sounded like background noise. We even turned off the air conditioner (despite a heat wave) to see if it would help and the noise persisted. The room was at least clean.

Was on my way to Asheville and got tired, stopped in Columbia. This is perfect for a night stop over, dog was $25, fair price and clean room. Check-in was smooth and would happily stay again if needed.

Not worth the money

The first room they gave us had a huge leak from the mini fridge and it puddled the floor. The second room, the door wouldn’t open. A maintenance guy tried to mess with it but it still didn’t work well. They didn’t move us. And the bathroom door wouldn’t open and close without extreme force. We were extremely dissatisfied.

The beds were hard and small. The wallpaper and tile was falling off the walls. The hotel is under renovation which is several years past due.
