"Space" is perhaps the key word in Las Palmeras: garden of 1,700m² (double the normal size in Roche properties); living room of 65m²; terrace of 120m², and last but not least, a swimming pool of 14x4m!! If we add to this the location, just 400m from the fabulous Roche beach and less than 100 from the nearest shop and bar,
The house has been thoroughly renovated in 2019, which has transformed it into a four-bedroom house with private bathrooms and a large open-plan space for the kitchen and living room. In the bedroom area, each of the rooms has direct access to the garden and two of them overlook the main terrace and the pool beyond. The house is configured on a single floor, with facilitated access for wheelchairs and with a bathroom specially designed for people with disabilities. The design is minimalist; the straight lines of the original house are accentuated with the renovation and complemented with just the right amount of furniture and the use of bright colours, which adds to the feeling of space and luminosity. The completely new kitchen has everything we might need, and the open-plan design lends itself easily to holiday living, with plenty of space for people willing to help (or hide!)
The living room opens outwards onto a large partially covered terrace and the pool area behind. In the furthest corner of the pool, an annex has been built with two individual bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and toilet. On two sides of the pool, majestic palm trees rise, giving it its name, and the other side is covered by an extensive lawn, ideal for groups with children. As an extra, the house also has an optional fence to separate this pool area. This side of the house receives sunlight throughout the day until well into the afternoon. To enjoy the last hours of sunshine, we can move to the other terrace next to the main door, topped with a pair of century-old olive trees. The roof of the annex is covered with photovoltaic panels that allow Las Palmeras to generate and export to the grid more (carbon-free) energy than it consumes.
A walk of less than 100m will take us to the local mini-market, pharmacy, a couple of bars and restaurants and the children's park. Roche also has its own tennis and paddle courts and five-a-side football fields. In the summer months, there are several beach bars and restaurants to choose from at a short distance, some of which even remain open all year round. If we have a car, in 5 minutes we will have a much wider variety of bars and restaurants at our disposal. The area offers an endless list of activities and by booking with us we will provide you with detailed information about all our recommendations, details about local services and our updated guide of "the best of the best". You can spend wonderful holidays here without a car and simply rent bicycles, but assuming we will have a vehicle, it is only 15 minutes to Conil de la Frontera, 20 minutes to the beautiful Vejer de la Frontera crowning its hill, 30 minutes to the millenary Cádiz, 40 minutes to Tarifa and Jerez de la Frontera, and 90 minutes to Seville, all of which are well worth a visit.
