The house is located next to the medieval gate of Portillo, open to communicate the ancient Islamic neighborhoods of the Medina and Axerquía. In the nearby Plaza Mayor de la Corredera, social meeting place stands the Central Market. In the Plaza del Potro, they are located the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum Julio Romero de Torres and the Posada del Potro, current Municipal Flamenco Center with live entertainment. The area is surrounded by classic taverns, and varied and innovative cuisine, drinks sites with large terraces facing the river, which is configured as a large natural area suitable for leisure and recreation.

Facing south, with direct access from the street, the house is divided into three separate levels, where each room is located.
Hallway, living room and kitchen on the ground floor, separate bathroom and master bedroom on the first floor and another bedroom, open plan with two single beds on the second floor.
The house is decorated with a very personal aesthetic where details and natural materials (wood, stone and clay), which give a special warmth, supplemented with small collections of folk art and unique ethnographic elements abound, as paintings and sculptures author. Doors, antique and restored by the owners, have small details that make the house a unique and harmonious space.

Casa La Carmen has many 10* reviews and that is completely justifiable. The historic feel and attention to detail is wonderful, we had everything we needed as well as complimentary items, books to read etc. The location is ideal for exploring on foot much of what Cordoba has to offer, with lots of restaurants nearby as well. The bed was very comfortable, note that there are steep stairs and perhaps it is not suitable for the elderly or families with young children. The owner, Adriana, is a wonderful host and our check-in was filled with useful ideas and information. She also kept on touch throughout our stay and even dropped by to see us safely on our way at check-out, booking a taxi for us was helpful due to our lack of good Spanish (by the way, there do not seem to be Ubers in Cordoba). Thank-you Adriana, you really are a kind and thoughtful person, we were honoured to meet you.

Casa La Carmen is Amazing

The property has everything you need. Very comfortable beds with air conditioning. A nice bathroom with wonderful water pressure and very hot water. And a kitchen large enouugh and equipment to share a family mean.But the host, Adianna, make the property special. Her in-person intoduction to the property was amazing. You know how you somethings just cannot figure out how to turn on the hot water....not a problem at Casa La Carmen. Adrianna walked us through every detail of the house. And whenever we had a question, she woukd respond immediately. The location was fabulous. Just a short 6-8 minute walk to the Mosque-Cathedral. And 50 reasutarants within a 1-mile radius. We had a hard time deciding where to eat because we had so many options.This is the perfect place in Cordoba for a family of 4-5. Or 3-4 friends traveling together.

Great Location

The 16th century house is well preserved and exciting to stay in. The rustic stone sink caps it. The bathroom is located on the second floor with the main bedroom, avoiding going down stairs at night. Most of the important sites are easily walked to which also makes it a little noisy at night. And there is a supper market two blocks away. Adriana, the host, is super helpful and makes you feel like family.

A great little find!

We were warmly greeted by Adriana our friendly and helpful host, who imparted really useful information with tips to get the most of our stay. The property is wonderfully quaint and quirky, steeped in history, excellently situated and easy walking distance to the main tourist attractions.

Lovely few days in Cordoba

This is a small, historic and slightly quirky house very centrally located for visiting the main tourist areas in Cordoba. Adriana was an attentive host, liaising with us in advance and meeting us there to show us where everything was. The spiral staircase might be difficult for anyone less mobile, but otherwise would recommend this as a base to explore Cordoba's sights and wide choice of good restaurants.

Fabulous host and apartment - Spotless and beautiful

In the day and age of anonymous check in what a delight to meet our wonderful host Adriana. She greeted us right at the property and spent time to review all the features of the apartment. Such a gentle and generous woman. Apartment is very well equipped and has everything you need. A beautiful fruit basket and all the kitchen basics. The apartment and decorations are stunning and you feel like you are sitting in a Spanish high end store. Adriana also took the time to give us recommendations of where to eat and you can trust her completely. The restaurant was a 5 star all the way. Location is amazing, right near all the main attractions but tucked away so you have a quiet nights sleep. We wished we had booked more nights, as we loved Cordoba and our lovely apartment. A unique experience….

This apartment is very unique as the building is very old. There is a very steep, winding staircase up to the bedrooms on two different levels. Not recommended for anyone with mobility issues, or small children. The rooms are quite big and very comfortable. Adriana was a very attentive host and provided us with a lot of information and recommendations. One thing to note, which is not in the VRBO description, there is an extra charge if you use more than one bed. We loved our stay in Cordoba….thanks Adriana.

A step back in time

This little home is very quaint and quirky. Great location and host was very helpful with providing information on recommendations and sites you may want to visit. It was spotlessly clean. For anyone renting in future, it was unclear based on the listing so this information may be helpful. This is a small accommodation with 3 levels. First level is a small kitchen area with table and 2 built in benches for seating. There is no other living room etc. There is AC on this level and it was lovely and cool. There is a narrow spiral stair case to 2nd level which has the washroom with bidet, sink, toilet and tub/shower combination. Water is hot and pressure is great. This level also has a bedroom with queen bed, good sized room, ceiling fan, but no AC. We had initially indicated we would stay in this room, not being aware there was no AC and it was quite warm up there in Sept. The spiral staircase continues to a 3rd level which has 2 single beds and an AC unit. This room is also a good size. The host graciously made this room up for us so we would have AC for sleeping. This rental is not for anyone with mobility issues due to the narrow spiral staircase. It was tricky managing this in the night to use the washroom on level below. The host asked in advance which room we would occupy so this info may be helpful to future guests dependent on time of year travelling. Lovely host and stay in Cordoba.

Great location, wonderful host

Gorgeous little apartment oozing history, character and charm with everything you need. Adriana was the perfect host, allowing us to leave our luggage as we arrived early. She gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants and offered to book for us as well. She provided us with a big bowl of fruit and other goodies. On leaving she also booked us a taxi.
