Inexpensive, clean, and comfortable. Needed a place to sleep close to the Padre Islands National Seashore (PINS) to serve as a jumping off point to surf fish for a full day, and this was PERFECT!!

Don’t let the outside fool you! We were in room 101 and it was probably the cleanest room we have stayed in along the coast in a long time. No mold , no dingy smell no sand on the floor from previous guests. Will definitely stay again.

I like this place a lot! If you are looking for a cheap place to stay this is clean and has a very nice shower and very nice beds very close to the beach this is the place to go! It’s not painted well and looks low quality but for the price range I think it is fantastic. I have stayed here twice and will come back. The staff is very very nice!

DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!

Room was filthy on all walls including holes, nasty substances, and extremely dirty directly by the door. Shower was absolutely disgusting with stains and mold all the way around the tub. Smoke detector didnt have batteries in it and was open.

If you’re looking for an affordable place to sleep and have a hot shower near the Padre Island National Seashore this is a great place. It’s not fancy but the air conditioning was ice cold and the rooms are clean and equipped with microwaves and refrigerators. There are several food options around and it’s minutes from the entrance to the national seashore. The owners were friendly also.

Very rundown and old rooms, bathroom was really dirty, especially the shower curtain. No official check out, only a basket to drop off the keys. Price in general was decent for what you get. Would not recommend to others.

We had a really good stay at Monterrey. The staff was kind, brought in new towels, emptied the trash and cleaned the floors each morning (HUGE thank you since sand gets EVERYWHERE!). The beds were comfortable with soft pillows so we slept well. Our only issues was the water pressure was not great so showering took a long time but at least we got clean, lol. Also, the pictures show full sized fridges but they're mini fridges. I packed meals for our stay so had to do some tetris action to make it work. So heads up there. All in all, my family and I had a wondeful stay and would stay again! Thank you Monterrey 😊

Overall was a good stay, place is on the run down side but you can tell they do try clean it up and are working on the place. It did have a kitchenette which is a major plus for families looking to cook. Great location to go to Padre Island National Seashore. I will be staying there againg due to convinience and price.

Fantastic. Check in and check out was crazy fast. the room was big and clean (with a full sized fridge!) and the location was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Will absolutely be coming back next time we head out that way.
