Unusual Cave House With Private Pool And View
Unusual cave house in private setting, at the edge of the quiet picturesque rural village of Cortes de Baza, with its wide, orange tree-lined streets situated north east of Granada. It is not unusual to see tractors parked outside peoples houses while the farmers have their lunch. The local farmers are olive and almond growers and goat herders. There is a bedroom with two single beds and a double bed in a room adjacent to dining area. The cave is deliciously cool in summer, cosy in winter. Well appointed with modern appliances and the luxury of an exclusive private swimming pool (June to Oct only) and terrace. Impressive view of Jabalcon mountain and rolling hills. Good location for day trips, walking or lazing by the pool. Take advantage of the cheap midweek Ryanair flights. Please note: Penultimate weekend of August is fiesta season in the village.
During your stay at this vacation home, you're just a quick walk from Granada Geopark. Features include laundry facilities. The vacation home includes amenities such as a private pool and a kitchen.

Peaceful Getaway
Love the area, having stay elsewhere in the village before. Good for dog walking, and lovely friendly local bars.
Very nice property.
Had a few niggles getting organised with hot water, WiFi, and pool, sorted by local contact who was excellent (just not a good use of your time when only away for a few days).
Have only downgraded 1 star for location and neighbourhood, due to very close proximity to goat farm, causing high volume of (not very pleasant) flys.

Authentic Spanish Gem
Property is as described, but so much more comfortable than expected. Located in a great area for exploring Negratin, Castrill etc.
Barry, Helen (and Mario in Spain) made the trip easy to book and arrive and responded promptly to our silly questions!
The pool was a godsend for our two kids with temperatures outside in the high 30c’s!
We had no problems with flies/insects, probably because the goat farm below was very quiet.

Happy for a cave house experience
Truly a place to talk about. Lovely, clean pool on a terrace that surrounds the front of the house...I mean cave! Very well equipped, clean as could be, all sorts of books to check out. Must say, inside it is a little too dark and still for me. The biggest problem was the hordes of flies that prevented us from enjoying the outdoors and even the indoors as they came in through the beaded door any chance they could. Please consider the time of year when staying here.

Another lovely stay
Our second visit in this lovely unusual cave house. Complete with its own private pool and a pleasant stroll from a friendly nice little village, this house has something for everyone. The owners, Barry and Helen, are super helpful and very quick to answer emails. Perfect base for a relaxing family holiday.

Peaceful, A Gem, with views!
This was our third Cave House holiday, but the best so far! Very comfortable, clean and homely. Beautiful area with stunning scenery on the edge of village, within walking distance to local shops. Limited eateries locally, but Lake Negratin's lovely restaurant within 30 minutes was our favourite. Great communication and detailed directions from Barry, made our arrival trouble-free. We intend to return!

First guest of season "teething problems"
Owner advised us some painting had been done and not to worry about smell on arrival. Arrived Friday lunch time. Cave was cold and damp. Smelt of wet plaster. Dehimidifier was on in thr main bedroom. No glass in woodburnet (it was on top of it and broken). No gas cylinders in gas heater or cooker. Door to cave wouldnt lock... only gate... so added to draught. Numerous emails to owner resolved some issues. Unable to use woodburner until Monday night. Local agent replaced glass but not screw so diy.... brought some wood.... but no saw and broken axe. Bathroom was damp and mouldy. Extractor in there didn't work. Owner said he was coming straight after us and it was first guest teething problems. The cave was not fit for habitation and should not have been let until plaster/ paint was dry. Cold and wet weather didn't help. Owner was let down badly by local agent. Am sure it is lovely in the summer...great location, friendly village and great pool... but it was too cold and damp to appreciate anything...and not being able to lock the door didnt help feeling safe and cosy.

Brilliant!
Even though we visited in December when it was freezing, the cave was warm and snug. The milk, bottled water and homemadd cake was a lovely touch. Will definatley be returning! Hopefully in Summer so we can use the pool. Cortes de Baza is a lovely friendly village with good bars and HUGE tapas, no need to eat evening meals! Brilliant in every way and still missing it

Relaxing stay with excellent weather for September
Good outdoor space with variety of seating areas. Had all facilities we needed in the house. Very good wi fi in main living areas. Directions to house from very helpful owners were invaluable. Car essential. Places to visit for walking and towns for days out not too far away. Cave was cool without additional A/C when outdoor temperatures in 30's. Pool was useful for cooling down. Flies outdoors were a bit annoying on some days but outdoor gazebo with dining table and insect net offered some respite and was perfect for outdoor dining. My only suggestion for owners would be to consider changing double bed as frame creaked loudly every time one of us turned over. We didn't try the two single beds so can't comment on those. It is pitch black at night and if your sleep is disturbed by light then this is the place for you, take a torch. Overall we had a relaxing time and quickly adjusted to the quirks of cave living.

Fantastic, quirky, cosy cave house!
We absolutely loved our stay in Cueva Rambla, it was an amazing experience. We were extremely comfortable and, even though we visited over new year, we still had warm enough days to enjoy the sunshine on the southfacing terrace and make use of the barbecue most afternoons. The views across to the snow covered mountains were amazing! The cave house is furnished with everything we needed. Locally the supermarket, various tapas bars, bakery etc provided the rest of our requirements without us needing to drive every day. Victors Bar was very hospitable....nice wines and tapas there to be recommended! Mario, our in-the-village-contact, was very pleasant and helpful too.
Thank you Barry and Helen for all your useful directions and tips, very straightforward and uncomplicated. (no teenager needed...)
We would definitely suggest that cave dwelling is a" must" to try- we certainly hope to go back to try it again. Best wishes from Sue and Steve (and Elsa and Bruno our bernese mountain dogs who loved it too.)

Fantastic Cave Dwelling
The cave lived up to and exceeded our expectations. With such a hot climate the cave was a great place to seek a cooler clime, 18-20C. Makes sleeping at night so much easier. The mountain scenery is stunning. With a hire car able to deal with the inclines it was really enjoyable exploring the area. Tapas was really filling and you need to ensure you haven't just had a big meal! Trying out our basic Spanish was essential, well received, and above all really good fun.
The cave is cosy, well maintained, and with Mario available locally you are never far from help if required. Cave houses abound in the area and are so novel. How do they excavate them! Despite being in a cave it is far from caveman living, with all modern comforts present. So, be brave and give it a go.
Owners are great at providing comprehensive information in advance. So you arrive knowledgeable and in control.
Thoroughly recommend the village cafe/bars. Each has their own personality.
On hand is a local ginger Tom cat. If you love cats feed him and he will stay with you during your stay.

Casa estupenda y entorno relajante
