We were unable to safely and reliably access the property.We requested early check-in and received confirmation from the host that this would be accommodated. Upon arrival at the apartment complex, we followed the provided entry instructions. However, each time the host attempted to buzz us in, the door would not unlock. After this, the host became unresponsive to my messages regarding the issue.Ultimately, we were forced to enter the building by following other residents through the garage. We encountered the same issue with the elevator. We were eventually able to access the unit.After settling in, we tested the key fob again before leaving and confirmed that it did not work on any exterior doors or the elevator. This meant we had no reliable or independent way to enter or exit the building.We spoke with the host by phone. She stated that she had been told all key fobs were deactivated, which was clearly not accurate as we observed other residents using theirs successfully. She suggested that she could manually buzz us in each time we needed access. This solution was not acceptable, especially given the earlier failed attempts and her lack of responsiveness.Due to the inability to securely and independently access the building, we informed the host that we would be booking alternative accommodations and would be requesting a refund.This situation created a significant inconvenience and safety concern. We believe the property was not as advertised.
