Beware - host cancelled at check in

Unable to provide any insights to the property as the host cancelled when I messaged to check- in, stating property was being cleaned for mold.Odd that I was only told this AFTER asking for the access code. Must have been some aggressive mold to grow so fast that there was no need to cancel earlier, but suddenly, when we at the airport the unit is not available. I do appreciate that she processed a 100% refund that day. However, due to the very late notice of this cancelation, we ended up having to pay three times as much to book 2 hotel rooms instead of the 2 bedroom condo. This experience ruined the trip and our budget. I am now done with VRBO in general. I will no longer put our travels at the mercy of an unprofessional host's disorganization, or whim, or whatever realy happened here. Note that on 3 other visits I have previously stayed in other units in this same building. Building is fine, a but if a weird layout with lots of exterior hallways and steps from parking garage, but a good location in uptown.
Stayed 7 nights in Jul 2025
