Magical Igloo/Dome next to a river perfect for relaxing stays

Off-grid sky-view Igloo/Geodome right by the riverside in the North of Iceland. Rustic style, simple, quiet surroundings and stunning views, perfect for Northern lights or midnight sun, listening to the river and relaxing in a cozy space.

The main area has a big, comfortable bed made from reclaimed Icelandic wood from the local forest, giving the room a warm and natural feel reminiscent of a hobbit hole (we are big fans of Tolkien). Kitchen corner equipped with a glass water container with fresh water 10L and a small sink just keep in mind the water supply is limited.

CAUTION: no shower or running water.

When you step inside, there’s a small entryway with a bench where you can sit and take off your shoes and coats, plus a little spot to keep your luggage tucked away. Just across from the entrance is a tiny bathroom with an off-grid toilet, simple but functional. We do not have shower, but we can recommend a lot of good pools and hot springs nearby.

  • 11 minutes by car from Swimming Pool Dalvik and 12 minutes from Byggðasafnið Hvoll
This cabin offers its guests a garden. The front desk is open around the clock.
