I highly recommend staying at Sol mate in Dauphin Island. The house is beautiful and set up well. There is a bedroom and bath downstairs on the first floor. A spiral staircase leads to the top floor with the other bedrooms and bath. The house is not a “ tiny home” per se but has the type of feel. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking out over the bay. The home has a wonderful outdoor space. The home is central to everything Dauphin Island offers. The host was wonderful and communicated well and answered all of my questions right away.

The positives: The house was very clean and cute and the location was great. The balcony was nice to sit on and enjoy the view. The outdoor area under the house was great. I took away 1 star because I was not prepared for the steep spiral staircase to get to the second floor and because the gaps in the boards on the boat dock were pretty wide and my dog was not able to walk on it without his paw falling into the gaps and it just felt unsafe. The bathroom on the main floor had a musty smell too. Overall our stay was great and would recommend.

Sol-Mate was absolutely our favorite of all the places we have stayed on the island. Convenient for fishing with EVERYTHING within reach. Walkways/ porches all the way around. Beach house. And a gorgeous sunset every afternoon. We did not want to leave. And will definitely be back soon. Owners were available for any questions or concerns which were only about dates for the future. No issues at all with our stay.

Nice view on the Mississippi sound side.We mistakenly went to the wrong house a couple of houses before the house we rented. They look similar. We couldn't get in the house (because we were at the wrong house) and contacted the owner of our rental. She was prompt in responding and helping. Long story short, she felt bad because we were waiting to have someone help us get into the house, even though it was our fault we were at the wrong house, and offered to let us stay longer. She didn't need to do that but she wanted to be sure we were happy. We were def pleased with our stay and her customer service. We will definitely be back and rent this house again! Very cute and had everything we needed.
