Motel in the middle of nowhere with a very hot temperature outside and a good temperature inside but with noisy air conditioning. Staff available 24 Hours. Parking in front of the room. Breakfast starts too late to visit Death Valley in August with very hot temperature since the morning.

I wasn’t sure what to expect driving through miles of open desert, but this motel was like stumbling upon an oasis. What really sets this place apart is the food and drinks—delicious, satisfying, and way beyond the standard “roadside motel” experience. Whether you’re stopping for a night or making it your destination, this spot is a true hidden gem in the desert.

Quaint, inside the park

The hotel is cute, the location is great. I liked being in a quieter village than Furnace Creek, and the proximity to the Dunes and Mosaic Canyon was great. Staff was very nice. I will admit that I was confused by the strict “no cooking” rule in the rooms … as, what is a road trip without a cup of noodles or haphazard hotel room meal. I made it work by eating protein bars, but this was inconvenient (as I have an odd diet and can’t just eat out, easily). Having the fridge was very helpful though, and the ice machine was always plentiful for keeping water below boiling during the drives / hikes in the park. Overall, I’d def recommend it.

It’s a basic room inside Death Valley Nation Park. I highly recommend the Saloon / Restaurant. One of the best meals on our cross country trip. Worth staying here just for the restaurant.

The property recently added heat pumps to each room replacing the noisy air conditioners. So our room stayed cool and quiet for a good nights rest. Loved the Saloon restaurant!

A very affordable lodging inside the Death Valley NP. Air conditioners were working great and food was available. Three miles away was mud quite sand dunes for excellent star gazing, sunset and sun rise views.

Stovepipe Wells - September 2025

The room was very simple but clean and comfortable. The cold water in the shower was about the same temperature as the hot water - surprisingly not very hot considering that the pipes bake in the desert heat all day. Dinner at the Badwater Saloon was good, and they have a nice beer selection.
