The Grove is located in Delaplane where John Marshall, the former United States Supreme Court Chief Justice who grew up at Oak Hill Mansion next door. The Grove was actually built by John Marshall for his sister. The town of Marshall (just five minutes away) is named after the former Chief Justice. The historic and popular towns of Middleburg, Warrenton, Paris and Upperville are all easy 15-20 minute drives.
Fauquier County is among the finest horse country in Virginia. Some of the most beautiful farms in the county are nearby. The Orange County hunt, sometimes comes in sight of the town when hunting foxes. It is not uncommon to see horse trailers and vans parked on Main Street of Marshall. Hounds and horses abound in this area. However it is also a great place for writers, actors politicians and other well known people to live quietly and anonymously. As a result, there are many new restaurants and local butcher’s, bakers and markets establishments to enjoy year round.

The Grove is located in one of the prettiest and popular cycling areas you will find in the Northern region of Virginia. Consequently, the County hosts many cycling events from the Spring to the Fall. These popular rides pass by the grand estates and orchards of Virginia's Hunt Country, and following the spine of the "mysterious" Mount Weather and down along the bottom of the ridge line of the Appalachian Trail. The Grove is located just off RT55 which is part of all the key rides so you don’t have to drive and park just get on your bike and GO! - And for those you like to hike, Sky Meadows State Park offers great scenic hiking trails that connect with the Appalachian Trail.
