The detached barn is located on the outskirts of a quiet village, just 3 miles from the market town of Dereham, where you’ll find shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as a golf course, a bowling alley and a leisure centre with swimming pool. Riding and trout fishing are available locally, too, or if horse racing appeals you could spend a day at Fakenham Racecourse, 16.5 miles. Visit the historic city of Norwich, 15 miles, the vibrant town of King’s Lynn, 31 miles, or head to the North Norfolk coast, just 23 miles away, for spectacular coastline and big skies. Lovers of history will enjoy the National Trust’s Blickling Estate, 21.5 miles, with its Jacobean mansion and more than 4,600 acres of parkland, while Holkham Hall, 27.5 miles, is a breathtaking 18th century house with a beautiful walled garden.
Pretty as a postcard, the converted cart shed is set across a single storey, and includes lovely interior features such as tiled flooring and atmospheric dark beams. The lounge/diner is a calm, comfortable space in which to relax, with soft seating and a Freeview TV. Dine at the circular table before stretching out and getting busy doing nothing at all. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to whip up tasty meals, including a convenient air fryer and a microwave. When you’re ready for bed, head to the inviting double bedroom, which boasts an en-suite shower room with WC.
The outside space at this property is really special, including a huge lawn and a sunny patio which is furnished so you can enjoy al fresco meals and drinks in the fresh air. If bringing a dog, please keep it on a lead, however, as this space is not enclosed and there is a road nearby. A final bonus of this lovely getaway is private parking for two cars.
