The hotel smelled like a mix of sweaty feet and lemon air freshener. The elevator had an overwhelming smell of sweat and weed. The beds were rock hard, the pillows had holes in them. The only positive piece of the stay was the employees. They were always kind and helpful.

We got in around midnight and the person at the front desk was very helpful and polite. Our room was okay. The bed was comfortable, but there was just a tiny bit of gunk on one side of the sheet, so we just slept on top of the blanket. There was no shampoo or conditioner to wash your hair in the morning, just bar soap, so be sure to bring your own. Or maybe the front desk would have some, but I didn't have the time to ask and wait. The bathroom was a bit beat up, not dirty though. Overall, it was a good place to stay for one night when you just need to crash somewhere and hit the road again the next day. Felt safe and the AC worked!

Area is just off I80 West Des Moines. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance or short distance. Customer service was good. Quick check in. Room was clean. Fairly roomy with queen bed. Only a mini fridge. No microwave. Microwave in main lobby with vending machines. Very reasonable for price at last minute. Was allowed early check in before 3pm. For one or two days, I would recommend it.

Make sure you have all of your belongings when you checkout from your stay. Housekeeping doesn't seem to always follow the lost and found policy. I mistakenly left items behind that had (sentimental) value to only me. They were either discarded or taken by the staff. It took me four days and six phone calls to be told my items supposedly weren't found.
