"Sunset Cabin" is a beautiful oceanfront condo ideally located in South Bay, a gated Gulf-front community in Destin. Our sliding doors open right up to our decks on the beach! If you are ready for a good swim or beach stroll, head down our sidewalk to the beach boardwalk access. We have a community gazebo with covered seating that overlooks the waves, as well as an outside shower for easy sand cleanup.

Once the initial amenities are depleted, guests are responsible for supplying their own amenities.

Cancellation Policy: 100% refund when bookings are cancelled 60 days (or more) before the start of the stay. Bookings canceled between 59 and 30 days before the start of stay will receive a 50% refund. For your protection, we encourage you to procure Traveler’s Insurance. Guests are required to electronically sign the rental agreement within TWO days of booking; otherwise, the reservation is subject to cancellation.

We very much enjoyed our stay but there were definitely some disappointments and unexpected "surprises" such as dirty dishes and utensils in the cupboards and drawers, no kitchen basics as far as olive oil, salt & pepper, basic spices, aluminum foil or saran wrap, no kitchen counter spray, only 2 kitchen towels to dry both hands and dishes, only 4 dinner forks (the rest were salad forks)....I could go on.

Was really looking forward to this vacation, but was disappointed with my overall experience. It seemed that the maintenance was not kept up. There had been a leak in the rental which caused black mold to form in the kitchen/ living area. All that was done to fix this issue was a little clean up and no full removal of the ceiling. Causing the mold to be stirred up into the air of the rental, which we were then breathing in and living in for the remainder of our trip. The bathrooms also seemed to not be properly vented. Moisture would stay on the walls even after the shower had not been used in hours. The vents in the bathroom also had mold growing inside, which I can assume was also being spread through the vents in the house. Overall I think there should have been a much more thorough walk through by the maintenance and house keeping team to make sure this was not an issue for my trip and also for others trips.

Beautiful setting but needs a deep clean

This was a nice condo but it was evident there is a lot of turn-over with the amount of wear and tear. Within 5 minutes of arrival, my kids socks were black. We went out and purchased a swiffer mop to clean the floors that night. Upon contacting management, they were swift to respond and offered to send someone back out to clean. This wasn’t a deal breaker for us but you could definitely tell the cleaning crew rushed and didn’t do a thorough job. Other than that, we had a great stay and more importantly, there were no bugs or pests.

Beautiful location close to the restaurants and things to do, fantastic location on the beach!House needs update on paint for the porches. Sliding Doors r very heavy to open. Property maintenance needs to be addressed!

Just needs to be fixed up and deep cleaned

Great location. Doors don’t slide open without force due to the track being really dirty and broken. Lots of little things that should not be broke on our arrival. Front door never closed correctly and was LOUD. Dishwasher did not clean dishes well. Had maintenance over for many issues Bathrooms are so small and need to be better taken care of. The laundry room in the master was nice but didn’t vent properly. So hot in the room. Lots of little things that could have been fixed and or addressed.

Perfect small family retreat

The rental property was great perfect. We had two grandmas in the basement bedrooms. hubby and I in the king upstairs. Baby in the VERY SMALL kids room that is accessed through the king bathroom. Right on the water! 3 BedRooms were big and quiet. Amazing to look out to see the waves all day. We used all 3 patios. Lots of stores close. We used an outside rental company for baby gear like a crib, stroller and booster. They were able to come in before check in to set items up. Beyond Blue called to make sure check in was smooth but otherwise didn't bother us. There was garbage pick up everyday! No crazy cleaning requests. Two sets of steep stairs to be mindful of.

Good stay

Overall great house. I wish there was more of an explanation about the private beach. You have to pay for beach service or set up behind the beach service. The grill did not work. More floor mats by the showers would have been nice. It could use a deep clean too but it was pretty good.

Beautiful views

Great location. Great view of the ocean. Plenty of room for everyone. Shopping, dining, entertainment and grocery stores close. Never did get my check in info of the app but i emailed them and got what i needed. Beds and pillows not very comfortable. Lots of centipedes, but that could be from being right on the beach. Grill did not work but had all other items we needed for cooking and eating. Would stay here again! We loved it. Watched dolphins from the top bedroom window.

Directly on the Beach!

Clean. Comfortable beds. Easy access to beach! Great views! Quick response when called or messaged. Had a problem with a toilet and the maintenance man promptly came on Saturday and stayed until the issue was resolved. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location, but not a great experience

Pros: The location is fantastic. This unit is part of a block of townhomes that are right on the beach, so your view is sand dunes and the ocean. This stretch of beach was also pretty quiet compared to how packed the beach is in some areas. Cons: We couldn't really see the view because of how dirty the sliding doors were (I know the sea air leaves residue, but the doors should have been cleaned; we had to buy some Windex and do it ourselves). The sliding doors were all very hard to open; I don't know if they're just old, or the tracks need maintenance, or what. Some of the interior doors would not close all the way; presumably they are no longer plumb because of the foundation settling over the years. One of the ceiling fans was coming out of the ceiling, leaving the wires exposed. A toilet paper roll holder was falling out of the wall, trailing drywall behind it. All minor things, but inexcusable; a handyman could easily fix all of it in one afternoon. Finally, the management company is impossible to get ahold of. The internet was not working when we checked in, and my husband and I both needed it for our jobs. Over the next several days, I called the company literally dozens of times. Not once did anyone pick up the phone. I would leave a message, and wait (and hope) for a response. The employees were friendly when I was able to actually speak with one, but they seem disorganized and it took them days to resolve the internet issue.
