The Abbraccio (meaning "Hug") vacation home, in Dogliani (Piedmont, Italy) sits atop the "Bricco Doriolo" hill, nestled among vineyards and hazelnut groves, overlooking the Langhe hills, UNESCO World Heritage site, the mountains, and the valleys.
Every detail has been carefully considered to surround guests with the sweetness of a hug, both indoors and out. Colori's interiors and furnishings, the wood of the beams and vine trunks, exude warmth and joy.
Spacious and versatile, it can accommodate up to 6 people: suitable for families or groups of friends seeking a comfortable and charming stay.
Abbraccio is the ideal place for a "GREEN" HOLIDAY, where environmental awareness becomes a lifestyle: certified energy renovation of the building, an electric car charging station, organic cultivation of vines for the production of Dogliani DOCG and Nebbiolo wines, an organic vegetable garden... and, of course, HIKING AND MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS right next to the property.
FOOD AND WINE, ART, ANCIENT VILLAGES... you'll be spoiled for choice!
The Colori apartment is on the first floor, accessible only by stairs, and offers a BALCONY WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS of the hills, mountains, and plains, as well as the garden.
The GARDEN, fenced and laid out like a relaxing and intimate "green room," is shared with guests of the other apartments and with the host family, who live in the adjacent house. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH AN OUTDOOR TABLE AND CHAIRS, COVERED BY A GAZEBO, with the possibility of EATING MEALS OUTDOORS, or RELAXING with a good book.
Colori has PRIVATE PARKING in the property's courtyard, and guests can use an ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATION. Guests must have a car, as the property is located about 5 km from the town center, and public transport (the closest is the bus) stops at least a 30-minute walk from the house.
SUPERMARKETS, SHOPS, A WIDE CHOICE OF RESTAURANTS, AND WINERIES OFFERING WINE TASTINGS are just a few minutes' drive away.
A detailed GUEST BOOK, created and updated by the host, also available as a smartphone app, is shared with guests upon booking and offers numerous suggestions for various activities, restaurants, and local products.
A COIN-OPERATED LAUNDRY is available just a three-minute drive away.

The WELCOME service deserves a brief description, because Paola, the host, takes great care to PROVIDE PRECISE DIRECTIONS at the time of booking. Before guests arrive, she sends a DIGITAL COPY OF THE GUEST BOOK, along with TIPS AND ADVICE, including the LOCATION of the property, which is otherwise difficult to reach. She also offers the possibility of making restaurant reservations, organizing food and wine tastings, and other activities, subject to availability, at various local businesses.
The in-person welcome at check-in, to get to know the guests, is completed with an illustration of the house's amenities, the provision, where possible, of necessary furnishings for special needs (e.g., a crib and high chair), as well as games and books. The distribution of informational materials, available at reception, includes information on cultural events, nature trails, trekking, and biking, of which there are numerous in the area. The host has also created, in a non-professional but, all things considered, effective walking routes that guests can follow with GPS tracks via the "Komoot" app.

Ancient villages to visit, fairs, concerts, festivals... and the land of the most famous wines (such as BAROLO and BARBARESCO) are just a few minutes' drive away.

... speaking of wines, castles, and villages... staying in Dogliani, rather than, say, Barolo or Monforte, combines the BEAUTY OF THE LANGHE with the TRANQUILITY of a less crowded and less "touristy" town, yet not devoid of history: just think of the significant presence of the Einaudi family, who have given Italy and the world prestigious figures such as the President of the Italian Republic, Luigi Einaudi, the publisher, Giulio Einaudi, and the composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi, and continue, with the Poderi Einaudi winery and historic villas, to contribute to Dogliani's "all-round" culture; think of the architect G.B. Schellino, a native of Dogliani, who created his own unmistakable neo-Gothic brick style, which punctuates the town with elegance and originality; think of Chris Bangle's giant benches, or the TV Festival, which every year attracts personalities from the worlds of culture, and entertainment... just to name a few.
