Hidden away in a quiet woodland clearing up on Leith Hill, with awe-inspiring views reaching a staggering 20 miles across the Surrey Hills National Landscape to West Sussex. From the door, public footpaths and bridleways lead to open fields, ancient woods, vineyards, and sweeping countryside. Holmbury Hill (2 miles) has fantastic vistas, and there are several thousand acres of open access land locally where you have the right of way (check maps). Visit National Trust sites like Leith Hill Tower (1.5 miles), with trails through heathland and farmland, Abinger Roughs and Netley Park (4 miles), with ancient trees and wildflowers, and the dramatic Denbies Hillside (7 miles). A picturesque golf course is just 8 miles away, and local towns, including Dorking (7 miles) with traditional market, independent shops and eateries, and Guildford with its cobbled streets and striking architecture, plus the River Wey.
