Location location location! The property is a little dated but being right in the heart of downtown able to walk to restaurants, stores and attractions is fantastic! Plus only a quick 10 minor car ride over to the Royal Tyrell museum. If you're in Drumheller and not planning to spend all day in your hotel, this is perfect. Would definitely stay again when in Drumheller! Bonus that our room had a third bed, as finding accommodations for a family of 5 isn't always easy!

Yelling in lobby

First off parking is not good, if the lot is full you have to park in the street but they let you know that is free. Breakfast is not terrible but not great. They have a sign on the fridge saying “one per head”. Assuming that means the yogurt. So free breakfast but limited. No hot food options. But the worst thing was listening to the lady at the front desk yell at a customer because he said the coffee machine in their room was not working. Instead of saying “thank you we will check into it” she let him know he was probably using it wrong and she would show him. When he said but it doesn’t work she starting yelling yes it does repeatedly. And all this happened in a full lobby of guests trying to enjoy the limited breakfast. We will not stay here again and will not recommend.

There is an extremely rough clientele hanging around, coming and going from the rooms at all hours. I'm pretty sure someone is selling drugs out of room two oh nine. All night people would go to the room, knock, talk in hushed voices at the door, then leave. Condition of the room was poor. The bathroom floor was filthy, everything was covered in a thick layer of grime, and, as my husband said, it smelled like someone dumped a can of tuna behind the mini fridge. The bedboth had hair in them and the sheets on one bed were badly stained.

Recommended

The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the shower pressure great, & the A/C was perfect. Great location in proximity to restaurants, shops, and taverns. The only improvement I could think of is more coffee available at the office in the morning. Great place to stay.

The hosts at this property do not know the area around the hotel and kept insisting that we "use Google Maps" to find them. The breakfast options are VERY limited. The beds are fine and parking is adequate. Also, this is a two story building with no elevator or porter. If you have any mobility issues (as my 90 year old father does) you must be aware of this.

Overpriced stay

The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke and was not very clean. The air conditioner was very loud. It was very expensive for what it was.

I guess this is called 'Econo Lodge', so I shouldn't be surprised if it was shabby, but other customers had left good reviews, so i thought I'd give it a try. I'm sorry I did. This is an older motel with old air conditioner units which are very loud. Our air conditioner leaked onto the floor of our room on our first morning (my grandson woke up and stepped into it). Fortunately a staff person fixed it, but he fixed it by draining it outside the unit (onto the outdoor landing) rather than inside. We stayed for two nights. Our towels were not refreshed for the second night, and there were no new coffee pods, sugars etc. left in our room - I had to go down to the breakfast room to get coffee. No decaf options. Oh, and the coffee machine is a Keurig, so if you like tea in the morning, you'll have to go down to the breakfast room for that, too. Speaking of the breakfast room - the breakfast is of the toast/bagel, jams, yoghurt, hard boiled eggs variety. Not a cooked breakfast. I wasn't impressed, except for one thing - right across the road is a lovely coffee shop called Café Olé. If you must stay at this motel, take my advice and go across the road for breakfast.
