Welcome to Serenity Cottage in Hermantown, Minnesota—a perfect spot for both relaxation and adventure. This charming farmhouse-style home offers a spacious and peaceful escape, comfortably accommodating 11 guests. Futon on the sunporch is available for additional 2 occupants if needed.

The cottage is ideally located within walking distance of a variety of outdoor activities. It is near Keene Creek Park's 80+ acres of outdoor wonderland. Enjoy the artesian well, trout stream, hiking and biking trails, classic Nordic skiing (no skate), and ATV trails. There's also ample space for parking ATV trailers, making it easy to access your adventures right from the driveway.

Inside, the cottage features a cozy farmhouse feel with ample amenities for your group including a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a sunporch, and 6 beds plus a futon. Unwind by the fireplace or one of 3 smart tvs, or relax in the private (2-person) sauna. Stepping outside, the professional garden and sitting areas add a sense of tranquility. In the evenings, gather around the fire pit for a relaxing end to your day.

With its roomy layout, Serenity Cottage is well-suited for large groups. Whether you're here for outdoor activities or simply to enjoy a peaceful retreat, this cottage offers both comfort and convenience close to adventure.

Pets - Don't worry about leaving Fido home alone! We're more than happy to accommodate up to 2 dogs at our place. There's just a small fee of $75 per dog that will be charged separately. If you want to know more about our rules and regulations for bringing your furry friend, we've got all the details for you in our house rules and regulations.

Access - When you arrive, park in the large open driveway. To access the house utilize your specialized code for the front door keypad.

Transit - While having a car is recommended for convenience, no worries if you don't have one. Duluth has got you covered with plenty of public transportation options to explore the area. You can hop on the Duluth Transit, or take advantage of ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft. And if you prefer traditional taxis, there are many other taxi services available too. So, whether you're cruising in your own car or using one of these convenient options, getting around won't be a problem at all. Enjoy your adventures in Duluth!

Our awesome guest service team is here to assist you from 8am to 9pm. If you have any questions or need anything, just give us a ring. VACATION RENTAL HOUSE RULES

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS a) All Guests (and any Visitors) must comply with all House Rules and any other instructions from the Property Manager during their stay; and b) Guests must notify the Property Manager of any disputes or complaints from neighbors as soon as reasonably practicable.

2. NOISE AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD a) This Vacation Rental is suitable for children of all ages! Guests are fully responsible for the safety and security of their children at all times, as well as any disturbance caused to other residents in the Neighborhood; b) Guests and Visitors must keep noise to a minimum as not to disturb the occupants of neighboring properties – especially during nighttime hours (10pm – 8am), and upon arrival and departure; c) Excessive noise is prohibited at all times and may result in termination of the vacation rental agreement, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges which may be deducted from the Security Deposit;

Terms include a No Tolerance Policy regarding excessive noise, parties, or disturbing neighbors. Please make sure you are comfortable with our Terms as they are strictly enforced.

3. VISITORS a) Guests are allowed a maximum of 6 visitors at any time during their stay. b) Guests are responsible for ensuring maximum visitor numbers are not exceeded; and that visitors are complicit with these House Rules.

4. FUNCTIONS a) Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at the Vacation Rental; and b) Any small gathering must comply with other rules set regarding Noise, the Neighborhood and Visitor numbers.

5. PARKING a) Guests and any visitors are to comply with parking regulations and other requirements set out below and show consideration to neighbors and other vehicles; please use the designated parking with signs for the Vacation Rental.

6. SECURITY a) Any time Guests leave the Vacation Rental, it is their responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are closed/locked to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. b) Guests must switch off the lights, air conditioning, fans, electronics such as televisions when not in use to promote energy saving.

7. SMOKING a) Smoking is not permitted inside the Vacation Rental; and b) Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly (in large trash cans located outside property or off property all together) and not thrown on property grounds. Failure to do so will result in a deduction from the security deposit.

8. PETS a) IF dogs are permitted at the Vacation Rental; b) Specific rules regarding Pets at the Vacation Rental are as follows: Please keep pets off all furniture and be sure to have on a leash at all times when outside of the home. Also be sure to clean up after your pet and dispose of waste in the trash bins located outside of property. Please respect neighbors by limiting the barking of pets on the property; c) A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed at the property; for short term reservations the pet fee is $75/dog, for extended stays the fee is $150/pet. All mention of pets denotes dogs only, no other pets are permitted.

9. DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES a) All Damages and Breakages must be reported to the Property Manager as soon as reasonably practicable. Failure to report them will likely result in a penalty deduction from the security deposit. And; b) To avoid Damages and Breakages, no furniture is to be moved from one room to another without prior agreement.

10. CHECK OUT ARRANGEMENTS a) Please be sure to lock all doors and leave both sets of keys back in the lockbox. Check out is at 10am - if you need a later checkout please contact me as soon as possible to request arrangements.

11. EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS: a) In the event of an emergency relating to the Vacation Rental, your emergency contact is: Heirloom Vacation Rentals b) In the event of all other emergencies please call 911.

12. COMPLIANCE a) Breach of any of these House Rules is a breach of the Terms and Conditions of occupancy as per the Rental Agreement. b) The Owner and Manager reserve the right to terminate permission to occupy and to evict from the Vacation Rental, any Guests or Visitors who refuse to follow these House Rules or who cause a nuisance to neighbors or other residents of the community.

This property has a lot of potential. Upon arrival the beautiful flower gardens greet you. Cell service at this location is minimal to none and you have to sign into their WiFi. If you’re here to disconnect then you’re good. Our group ran into issues with the house not being properly cleaned, by the management company, and we spent part of the second day cleaning and vacuuming. Once that was behind us we enjoyed the outdoor fire pit area that night and the front porch the next day for our morning coffee. The air conditioning is individual room air conditioners, with the exception of one upstairs bedroom that does not have any air conditioning. The beds, we found, are very firm.Please note that there are moisture sensor alarms in the basement, this was not indicated in the listing at the time of our renting.The house is a spacious, older, well loved home. With a good top to bottom cleaning, and moisture management for the basement, this house will be a great retreat.

July 4th Weekend Celebration

We loved the property and beautiful gardens surrounding the house. The location felt like you were out in the country, but you are 10-15 minutes from anything you’d need. Keene Creek Park is a short walk down the road and there is an Artesian well along the way. Great trails for walking, hiking and biking nearby. The accommodations in the house were good. The bedrooms upstairs can be challenging to regulate the temp during hotter weather and not having a bathroom on the upper level can be an inconvenience for “older folks”. We would definitely return to continue exploring all of the great outdoor activities that Duluth and North Shore have to offer. P. S. I did have a chance to meet the property owner when he came over to put out the garbage cans. He was very pleasant and we had a nice chat about the “old country.”

This was a great place to stay. Lot's of parking and we felt by ourselves. The house was clean and well stocked with the little things you forget to bring. The large table was so awesome for playing games and hanging out with others by the living room. The sauna was not working but they compensated us with no issues. We would stay here again !!!

Cute and quaint

Four friends got together for a much-needed relaxation weekend. It was easy to get to, easy to get to other places, and lots of space for us. The only thing we missed was using the sauna. Having directions posted how it worked, or if it wasn't available would have been nice. The kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of rooms/beds and we would stay again.

Duluth Oasis

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood on the hill, this spacious home was just right for our family getaway to Duluth and the North Shore. The sauna in the basement was a huge bonus. We went for a sweat each evening of our stay. The house is well-located for easy access to downtown Duluth and the lakeshore, bakeries, coffeshops, cafes, and more.The living room had the perfect layout for the family to have extended evenings by the gas fireplace, which provided ample warmth.As an added bonus, the home is almost entirely surrounded by forest (Keane Creek Park). Very quiet and beautiful.The owners are very prompt with snow removal; we experienced a minor blizzard (8 inches of snow) during our stay, and someone had already plowed the street and driveway by the time we were preparing to head out for the day.Check-in was easy, with clear instructions from the owners and a few reminders on the door before we entered.The only thing worthy of mention for future vacationers is to beware of google maps when entering the address. It does not bring you to the right location. This is not a big deal at all, but we are just mentioning that here. Check with the hosts about finding the right place.A stay. We will gladly visit this beautiful home again with friends and family.

Girl’s Weekend

I stayed with 5 of my college girl friends. We absolutely loved the cottage. It has such unique charm and character. It was clean with all the little touches dialed in. Everything from shampoo, conditioner, body wash, makeup remover to plenty of outlets, bedside lamps, cozy blankets, fireplace, a well stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable with new bedding and plenty of sleeping space. Lots of parking. Quiet neighborhood. We will definitely stay again!!
