The cottage takes its name from its seafaring past on historic Fisher Street, once home to fishermen whose work was aided by a Fitzroy Storm Barometer introduced in 1859. This heritage is reflected in the cottage`s calm coastal character.

Barometer Cottage was a gem of a find. It was beautifully presented, very clean and homely full of trinkets and art and a well equipped kitchen. We had the most relaxing time. Broughty Ferry is filled with a great vibe, you can relax at the beach and on many of the seats along the promenade or enjoy a lively pint in the local pubs. We had dinner next door at the Ship Inn and the food was amazing, highly recommend. We were sad to leave Barometer Cottage but we will definitely be back. A 5 star accommodation in a 5 star town. Loved it
