Paradise Pines - Autumn & Winter Haven Cottage

Welcome to Paradise Pines! This is a recently renovated 3 bed, 2 bath spacious home w/ a fireplace, 58" smart TV, fast internet, huge porch to grill on, fire pit (fully operational) and access to multiple local beaches! Spacious driveway to fit 5-6 vehicles or your boat or snowmobiles! Two rooms w/ a queen bed each and a third room with two twin beds. The sectional could fit two smaller guests too! Designated work space available. Perfect for long-term stays for traveling professionals!

Will always be available via message and will respond quickly.

This neighborhood is tucked away on a road that gives a peaceful environment to all of our guests. Very private w/ a lot of space inside and outside of the property. We are right off of US 23 so if you’re a lighter sleeper, we recommend using the second queen bedroom rather than the master. We have a sound machine available as well! Note - beach access is across the road if walking or a 5 minute drive to the nearest public parking.

Beach Access: While you can cross the road to access the beach from various entry points, due to the limited space and overcrowding, we would recommend a short 4 minute drive down to Shoreline Park. The park offers ample parking and huge beach access, pavilions and play areas for kids!

Long private driveway, 5-6 cars or large enough for 1-2 small sized boats or snowmobiles. Also, please note that this property is only about a 10 minute drive from Tawas or Oscoda and 5 minutes away from the nearest beach. During the winter months, visitors can access the Tawas Bay Multi-Use Trails along Lake Huron, part of Michigan’s Iron Belle Trail, or explore nearby historical, natural and cultural areas along the Lumbermen's Monument Auto Tour. The park is also home to the Tawas Point Lighthouse, which is the sole representative of a true Victorian-era style station on the Great Lakes.

Whether you’re here to explore fall’s vibrant colors, dive into winter’s snowy wonderland, witness spring’s blossoming beauty, or soak up summer on Lake Huron’s shores, there’s something special for every season. Take a scenic hike, visit our local spots, or simply relax—whatever you need to unwind, East Tawas has it.
During your stay at this cottage, you're just a quick walk from Lake Huron. Features include laundry facilities. The cottage offers a kitchen and 2 bathrooms.
  • Air-conditioned cottage with kitchen, washing machine, and 2 bathrooms
  • Amenities include laundry facilities
  • Steps from Huron-Manistee National Forest and 10 minutes by foot from Lake Huron
As a guest of this cottage, you'll find barbecue grills, a garden, and laundry facilities. The front desk is open around the clock.

This East Tawas cottage is smoke free.

Great Place Great Loaction

This place was perfect for our week stay of fishing in Oscoda, MI. We were able to fit three full size truck and boats.

Neighborhood doesn’t feel safe

We pulled up to the house and couldn’t believe the exterior condition of the house or the run down neighborhood. We did not stay there for fear our belongings and our dog would not there if we left them there to go out to dinner. We had to scramble to find another rental for the weekend because we had a family wedding in the area. I text the host regarding the house and possibly getting some of the rental fees returned and got no response.VRBO is obviously not monitoring their rental properties.

Not sure how this property had high reviews?

Upon arrival at the property shortly after the 3pm check-in we noticed it was not cleaned from the previous guests. After several phone calls and emails, they sent someone to clean the property. No timeframe was given for how long it would take, we were told they would "ping" us when completed. I received an email close to 8pm saying they should be done by 8:30pm. It was completed at 9pm. No text or phone call. We had to kill over 5 hours before having access to the property after already driving 4 hours to get there. They offered a $50 refund for the inconvenience only after I asked about compensation. That I have yet to receive. A few other things to note. The front porch was covered in dirt, debris and standing water making it unusable during our stay. The back porch had a garbage can full of rotting food making it unpleasant and unusable as well. The neighborhood is run down with abandoned properties and other disturbing things in the area, not safe for walking. Other things were not satisfactory, I could continue on and include several pictures. Overall, not a great experience, did not meet expectations and would not recommend. We even left a day early.

Just as pictured! Nicely renovated! Very well stocked! Had difficulty finding it with the address provided. The driveway is not off US23 but I could have missed the directions somewhere else.

Convenient Location

We came up to explore the Lake Huron side of the state, and this location was perfect. Some days we went south, and some north, and everything was within 30-40 minutes. The home is very clean, and well supplied. We particularly appreciated the coffee supplies, washer and dryer and being allowed to bring our greyhounds. The only negative was road noise, but once I found the white noise maker and plugged it in, and found a setting we liked, we didn't notice the road noise as much. Our first night it rained, and we were awakened by loud noise in the middle of the night, which lead me to try to identify the source, which sounded like a rock in a dryer. The next morning I figured out the noise was caused by acorns dropping off and hitting the sheet metal caps on the roof. This is nothing the owners have any control over. The weather didn't really allow use of the private beach, but we did go there our last morning for sunrise photos. Thanks for the stay, it was very relaxing.

Great getaway!

Loved the property and our stay was awesome. It was clean and comfortable. Parking was great. Beds were perfect. Supplies were available. Your being available for us as we ran into little snags was absolutely amazing. Very relaxing and quiet. Enjoyed the back deck and the corn hole game! (Sorry we locked ourselves out.) Thank you so much! In addition… We had difficulty finding the location, ( the flag was on the mailbox, not on the house) and getting into the house. ( I didn’t realize there was a third access door in the back.). Also, the smart thermostat was not user friendly for us senior folks . We would have turned the heat down a bit for sleeping. We would love to come back again in the future. I’m only sharing these small difficulties so you are aware of our point of view during our stay. Also, I didn’t use the Vrbo app while we were there. It isn’t on my phone. Thank you. Kathy

Fun stay in Michigan

It was a short stay with family. Lots of board games to keep the kids entertained. Good wi fi coverage and a dedicated work area. Weather didn’t allow us to use the private beach mentioned. The private beach is about 10-15 mins away though. That said, there are plenty of clean and nice beaches around anyways. 10 mins drive to a bunch of places to eat and downtown east tawas. Overall lots of fun. The hosts were super responsive and adjusting. Highly recommended.

Paradise Pines

We had a really nice time at Paradise Pines. The house was clean, it had everything we needed (microwave, fridge, pet friendly, air conditioning), and the location was great. The private beach for residents is on the smaller side, but no one was there both times we went - it was perfect! It was close enough to Tawas Point State Park, restaurants and shops on Easy St., and a few other parks with beach access (about 10 minute drive to each, besides the private beach for neighborhood - maybe 2 minute drive). The owners were very kind and great to communicate with. I would stay here again if we planned on coming out to Lake Huron for another getaway!

Just Perfect

This cottage rental is really great and was just perfect for our family including our 3 year old granddaughter. Everyone was comfortable with 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms and the kitchen had everything we needed along with washer/dryer. The setting was in a quiet neighborhood and close enough to downtown East Tawas & the beach. The cottage was well cleaned with extra shampoo/soap, toothpaste & toothbrushes if needed. Overall, it is a super nice rental!

Nice Stay!

Aside from the issue with the inaccurate location, which I understand was a VRBO issue and not the fault of the property owner, it was overall a great stay. There was quite a bit of road noise from US-23, but there were earplugs provided so sleeping was not an issue. The address provided is listed as US-23 but there is not a driveway on 23 (rather on a different street on the back side of the property) so that posed an issue for a grocery delivery I had planned, necessitating a 15 mile round trip in to town the first evening. Lastly, the "neighborhood beach" is tiny and buggy. Much better options at the state park or in Au Sable. The house itself is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and well stocked. We would stay here again, and have given the info to friends who live in the area for "overflow" when they have family in town. Just a few call-outs worth mentioning.

Great Experience

This location was in a great location right in the middle of downtown Tawas city and Oscoda. We took our dog to the beach and the pier. We had pizza from G’s and ice cream at Marion’s! It was fantastic. The home was tucked away so it was nice and quiet at night. Very clean and nice inside.
