Staff was friendly but quite slow with service - it took a long time to check in (it didn’t seem they had a desk attendant at all times available) and again to retrieve my bags when I had left them in their storage room to walk around the city.
Facilities overall were fine, a little older but clean in general. Nice that they had free coffee and tea easily accessible.
It’s in a great part of the city so location was very convenient to walk 15-20 minutes to major attractions. Biggest complaint was the noise going on from construction!! Right outside of my window were people working on scaffolds so I was abruptly woken up every morning to the sounds and vibrations of drilling… weird I wasn’t warned at all about this or given a different room because it was VERY disruptive.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Very basic room. Had a toilet that wouldn't stop dripping. Reported it but not fixed whiile we were there. Great staff..friendly and accessible. Good location in Edinburgh for Fringe in August.
Safe, clean hotel, right in the center of the city! The location is unbeatable for the price. The only issue we encountered was that the shower was set up such that water would get all over the bathroom floor each time someone used it. Overall, we had a good stay and would return.
This was a very modern hotel room compared with most properties we have stayed in near the city centre. The location is excellent in terms of proximity to Princes Street shopping/dining/pubs and Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. The castle is practically across the street from the hotel and it's less than a ten minute walk away. It's also only 20 minutes walk to Calton Hill and Dean Village, two must-see areas of the city. The beds were very comfortable but we found there was a lack of storage space for our luggage and bags in the room. We discovered later that the beds have storage underneath but there was nowhere really to put your bag unless on the floor or bed, as we didn't want to unpack everything to put in the bed drawers. The room was very modern, with an automated control panel above each bed, but if one person wanted the light for the bathroom, the entire room had to be lit up. We were given an accessible room so the water from the shower went everywhere in the bathroom. Something seemed not right about the drainage for this because we had to ask for a squeegee and extra towels to deal with the water on the bathroom floor. Not a big deal but something to know. The staff were very good in addressing this for us. The entire staff we met were very friendly. The hotel is getting outside facade improvements so we never actually got to see what it looks like, lol. There's a complementary tea and coffee station in the lounge. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
It’s a great location about 10 to 15 minute walk from station. It’s on a nice street with lots of pubs and restaurants. The check in area appeared to be self service although we had an associate check us in. The hotel is under repair and is covered with scaffolding which does block some views but that wasn’t a concern for us. Room was small and bed was up against a wall but it was comfortable with lots of ledge availability and storage under bed. Bathroom was very nice. We definitely would stay here again!
Our room was pretty good size. One strong feedback for the management is about the Bathroom. There is no partition in shower with the other parts of the bathroom. Taking shower means water will be stranded there your whole stay. We had to use towels at the entrance so that water doesn't overflow from there into the room. There were splashes of water when you enter in bathroom, it was not just a puddle but a pool there. That was the worst part of our stay.
Hub was great! The room is very modern with a lot of storage. Shower was fairly large and I fit well at 6ft 6in tall.
The room is small - if you want to spend quality time in the room this is the wrong place. If you are alone it would work great for sleep and bathroom, and if you like to share space closely the ln it can work for two.
We would go back!
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Hub by Premier Inn! They were able to hold our bags until check in time and staff was helpful. Overall the room is very small. It was fine for one night, but wouldn’t be my choice for extended time. It does have everything you need and was clean, but lots of bumps and marks on the wall and hallway carpets could use a cleaning. The location is excellent - you walk right outside to bars and restaurants and one of the main streets in Edinburgh.
Affordable, great location, felt safe as a first time solo traveler. 24/7 watch

Very clean. Very well organized. No space for putting things. Double bed where one person had to climb over the other. No night light. No hooks for bath towels.
Construction was going on during our stay, so only 4 stars for the condition of the property. But we would definitely stay here again!

Disliked: Room comfort
Not so cheap, warm, and bad service
A hotel has ONE job, to enable a good night sleep. The AC was on but at "full speed" and "cool", it only breathed air with no coolness to it. This was during a heat wave in Edinburgh! I was unable to sleep and got up at 3:30 to complain to a night watch that did not understand English...
Rooms are very small! But they make good use of the small space - slide out storage under the bed, small closet. Comfy bed.
Breakfast was cheap, simple but good - granola, fruit, yogurt, coffee.
One downside was noisy gurgling pipes through the night - bring earplugs.
It was good for the price! Very central and walking to distance to most places. The carpet in the room was a bit dirty but otherwise its good for a short stay in Edinburgh.
