This property was nothing like the listing described, and our stay felt unsafe from the moment we arrived. The space is advertised as private, yet the hosts have full access to both the kitchenette and the bathroom, and none of the doors have locks—not even the bedroom. Even worse, the so‑called “private entrance” to the outside does not have a lock at all, meaning that whenever we left the property, anyone from the street could walk right in. There was absolutely no way to secure the space for our own privacy or safety.
The listing is misleading in several ways. It is not near the ocean, there is no washer or dryer, and the overall condition of the unit was unacceptable. The floors were dirty, there were cobwebs on the ceiling, the bathroom hand towel was visibly used, and the shower didn’t work at all. The entire place felt neglected and unhygienic.
We had planned to stay for two nights, expecting a comfortable mid‑trip break where we could do laundry and rest. Instead, we felt so unsafe that we booked a hotel for our second night. While the host was initially responsive, that changed the moment we raised our concerns and requested a partial refund—after that, he simply stopped responding.
This was a deeply uncomfortable, unsafe, and misleading experience, and the listing does not accurately represent the property in any meaningful way.
