We love dogs and welcome all breeds and sizes! This fully renovated, cozy cabin sits on 1.6 acres surrounded by pastures, mountain views, and abundant wildlife. The grounds are covered in wild peppermint, filling the air with a refreshing, natural fragrance. Your furry family members will delight in two fenced outdoor play areas: one features a fire pit, seesaw, three truck tires to run through or jump over, a sniffari route with stones, hay, and posts to explore, jolly balls of all sizes, a fillable pool (stored under the deck), and a huge sandbox for digging — fun for all!
Conveniently located just off Old Highway 5, you’re only minutes from Downtown Ellijay, outdoor adventures, restaurants, shopping, groceries, and within walking distance to the annual Apple Festival.
The 800 sqft cottage, built in 1940, was previously a free-range chicken farm with chickens, cats, roosters, bunnies, and turkeys roaming freely. After acquiring it in 2022, we completely renovated the bathroom, built a custom kitchen cabinet, added new lighting, and installed a much-needed dishwasher. The shiny red roof perfectly matches the bright red doors and our mood.
The back porch was fully redone and gated for dog safety, with stairs leading to a small fenced area. The metal gate can be opened to access the large fenced yard.
Inside, you’ll find two king-size beds, nightstand lamps with charging ports, a butcher block kitchen table with seating for four, and a comfy leather sofa with plenty of blankets and pillows for cozy evenings by the electric fireplace. We recently added a soundbar and installed a new larger ROKU TV for extra special movie nights. Furniture covers allow your dogs to snuggle right alongside you. A large dog crate sits next to the sofa, one more crate is located in the second bedroom and a variety of dog supplies are conveniently stored in the kitchen cabinet. We love this place and hope you and your furry friends have a wonderful stay!

You have access to all areas of the cottage except the locked storage cabinet and crawlspace.

Ellijay, Georgia, known as the "Apple Capital" of Georgia, is located between the Ellijay and Cartecay Rivers where they join to make the Coosawattee River. It is also the county seat of Gilmer County, Georgia. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast, prefer fine dining, enjoy vineyard tours or lose yourself shopping for handmade arts and crafts - Ellijay and surrounding areas seem to have an endless array of activities to offer.
The famous Georgia Apple Festival takes place every October right down the street from our cottage. Some of the best apple orchards are local to the area as well. Did I mention the wonderful Farmers market, the many delicious eateries located right off the square?
There are hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails, countless camping opportunities, numerous fishing spots located along the rivers. In the mood for tubing? So much to explore. ENJOY!

Please note! The bathroom is shared and can only be accessed through the main bedroom. Please consider this set up before making a reservation!

As a guest of this cottage, you'll find barbecue grills, a garden, and concierge services. The front desk is open around the clock.
