Treasure in the Flint Hills

This cabin is our happy place. This is our second visit and we enjoyed the updates including the footbridge, paths, and lookout stand. The hosts have thoughtfully provided all the amenities we needed for a stress-free getaway. We enjoyed using the firepit, grill, and even the DVD player. I already miss drinking my morning coffee on the wraparound porch. We can't wait to schedule our next visit!

Amazing

What a fantastic place to stay! The history of how the cabin and silo were built/converted into places to stay are so fun to read about! Area was fun and beautiful to walk around! Owner was so great with communicating! Can't wait to stay again!

Birds in paradise

Absolutely lovely situation. The bird watching is amazing. The quiet the first night, you could hear the earth move. A bit noisy today because the silo neighbors playing music outside.

A tour of the Prarie

Peaceful Get-Away

Loved the cabin and property. It was so quiet and peaceful just listening to the birds and taking walks. Also loved the "surprise tree stand" in the woods. We spent quite some time up there enjoying the breeze.

So good I wish I could keep it a secret

This was our families second stay at Paw Print. The kids loved adventuring on the trails and playing in the stream. We recently went on an extended family beach vacation and the kids said they liked this more. It's 2 hours away from our place in Johnson County KS which is an incredibly reasonable drive compared with other destinations. You can tell the owners care about keeping the place up because the grill we had the last time (just a few months back) that was in usable shape had been upgraded. Even though the weather was warmer this last time the natural shade gave us lots of relief when sitting outside and the nights were kept cool by the AC. The last time we stayed I tried fishing but had no luck but this time we caught lots of little fish which the kids just loved. My wife went adventuring in the stream with the kids and caught lots of little critters (tadpoles, minnows, crayfish). If you like to go camping but want something much less rugged (which as a parent of 3 I would advise) while still getting a great outdoor experience this place is perfect and is very inexpensive.

Perfect Hideaway

It was exactly what we wanted - off the beaten path, nature, peace and quiet. It was like going to gramma's farm! The cabin is warm and inviting with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Because you're in nature, bug spray is a must for ticks and mosquito protection. And if fall cobwebs make you squeamish, consider a winter/spring/ summer date instead! Thanks to the hosts for opening this little gem for others to enjoy!

Beautiful cabin

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The cabin itself is just beautiful. We enjoyed looking through the photo book that told the history of the land and cabin. The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked. We watched a few movies and played board games while in the cabin. We relaxed on the porch swing and enjoyed our dinners at the built in picnic table on the back deck. We walked the trail behind the cabin and came across the treehouse which was really neat. Unfortunately the creek was pretty dried out. We laid out in the back of our truck to look at the stars. We brought our cornhole boards and there was plenty of yard space for them. We visited Chase Lake and Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, both relatively close to the cabin.
