We were at the Cedar River retreat in mid-April for 4 days. Another couple joined us overnight one night. The secluded location was beautiful and quiet with abundant wildlife. We saw wild turkeys, American bald eagles, lots of songbirds, deer, wood ducks, turtles and a muskrat! The deck is a lovely place to hang out and enjoy the view and the quiet. Unfortunately, a fire ban due to drought was in place so we couldn't take advantage of the fire pit. There is a grill also (we didn't use it). The cabin and its furnishings were so cute! There are handmade log chairs with thick cushions, 2 recliners, a sofa and a huge cedar table with benches to seat 8 easily. The kitchen has everything you need, including nice stoneware dishes, copper cups for Moscow mules, a Keurig (huge coffee selection) and grinder. The bathroom is shower only and has lots of thick, thirsty towels. excellent hot water and water pressure. The master bed was too firm for us. The other 2 rooms have a full bed with a twin bunk above it--comfy mattress but a little awkward to get in and out of for us older folks.Jessica was a very responsive communicator on check-in and departure. We were happy and had everything we needed, so didn't have to contact her during our stay. Oh, one more thing...The local "best" restaurant is the Hungry Horse Saloon. Their food and steaks were terrific but beware, they are cash or check only, no cards.
