Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Lovely staff, but a disappointing stay
Unfortunately my stay here was not the greatest. The rooms are looking shabby, the bed is possibly the most uncomfortable I've slept on (with pretty much non-existent pillows), and the food was poor (cold soup and 'sourdough bruschetta' which turned out to be a toasted piece of packaged sliced bread with barely cooked pan fried peppers & onions). Disappointing. The staff were lovely though - which is why I'm ashamed to say I didn't bring up the problems at the time.
I would recommend this lovely pub and hotel to anyone, staff was so lovely and welcoming the room was up there with the best ive stay in, and absolutely spotless with a queen size bed 10/10
Property was booked so we could watch the football live on the Sunday afternoon. However, the employee in the bar area could not be asked to put it on although we asked politely and kindly so we had to pay taxis to go to another town to watch the football. The property was also so busy with drinkers on the Saturday night that it was impossible to eat there and once again, we had to pay taxis to go and eat somewhere else! In the end we paid a lot of money for convenience and ended up having to spend more and being unable to use the facilities! Not great!
Not the best of experiences. Very odd check in ! Took an age to get into the car park (I ended up having to enter the property as no one was answering the gate phone or my attempts calling the property) no apologies made either. Room key only works after 3 attempts. Very small room which was ok but the bathroom very dated.
We srrived for a two night stay from the moment we arrived all staff where very friendly
Room was spotless and really well set out (room 8)
Ethan checked us in and gave us some local knowledge to asssit with our visit
Charlie the chef was great with my son as he is a fussy eater went above and beyond to cater for him the manager Jacob made our stay hassle free and we will make sure to return to this hotel next year when back to london card show from which is less than 5 min walk from this hotel
This has so much potential. The welcome was lovely, but the first thing we were told, after being given our key was that the battery was dying on the pad, so we would have to tap it 3 times.
The room was spacious, with a ridiculous full mini fridge- only alcohol no other space!
The toilet roll holder was broken and missing.
The bed was very comfortable. The shower, really did not work; there was no power; it would not stay up, kept dropping down - very disappointing.
We had breakfast, which was good, but the grapes that were on the table were mouldy. None of the plates from previous guests had been cleared away on 3 tables, leaving us with no choice where to sit.
WORST ROOM IVE EVER STAYED IN BY FAR!!! V V V LOUD
Lovely staff, lovely room but total utter disaster of a stay!!! I’ve travelled ALOT! This has to be the worst room EVER!!!! What seemed like right on top of a karaoke bar! I had earplugs but you could still feel the base thumping through the floor until midnight! I may aswell have gone down stairs & tried to sleep on the dance floor!!!
