Mill Cottage, Great Houndbeare Farm

Mill Cottage is a spacious four-bedroom property set on Great Houndbeare Farm, on the edge of the village of Aylesbeare in East Devon. Surrounded by 100 acres of woodland and farmland, it accommodates up to nine guests and welcomes two well-behaved dogs. Ideal for families or groups, the detached cottage offers a private garden with a hot tub and barbecue, as well as access to a communal games room, children's play area and ample on-site parking.



Inside, the main lounge provides plenty of seating, a large Smart TV and an open-fire set within an impressive fireplace that forms the center of the room. The farmhouse-style kitchen is a practical and sociable space with a large dining table suitable for group meals. A separate snug provides an additional seating area and opens directly onto the enclosed rear garden.



Upstairs, the cottage offers flexible sleeping arrangements across four bedrooms: one double room, two twin rooms, and a room with an adult bunk bed featuring a double below and single above. Two shower rooms, each with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, serve the bedrooms and ensure convenient facilities for all guests.



Outside, the enclosed rear garden features a wide lawn edged by mature trees and shrubs, along with a patio furnished for outdoor dining. The hot tub provides an inviting place to unwind at the end of the day.



The external games room is shared among the six cottages and is equipped with a pool table, foosball table and full-size table tennis table.

The surrounding area offers plenty to see and do. Aylesbeare sits within easy reach of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, providing walking routes, nature reserves and scenic viewpoints. Nearby towns such as Ottery St Mary and Sidmouth offer shops, cafés, beaches and family-friendly attractions, while Exeter is only a short drive away for cultural sites, restaurants and historic landmarks.
