No one on reception. All keys left on desk with bits of paper with full names on them. I think I was the only female in quite a number, which clearly had my room number visible. Not great safety wise. Key did not work. Had to traipses down steep stairs and narrow corridors to phone then use master key and wait a couple of hours for working key to be sorted. In the meantime received phone call, text and WhatsApp from the hotel trying to contact another guest with issues. Restaurant and car shut. Clearly from reviews this is a long term permanent thing. Large car park with electric charging but really poor lighting by a derelict part of the hotel, with broken barriers. Did not feel safe as a lone female. Room good size and modern, but floor hadn’t been mopped and toilet brush was disgusting. No tea spoons to make a drink. No bedside light so just the very bright downlighting or nothing. Could be so much better if someone was on site and a bit of effort put in

Our room was clean and lovely and warm. Free parking directly next to the hotel was great especially as we arrived late in the evening. The receptionist was polite and friendly. Main downside for us was the noise of the motorway as we are light sleepers and our room was at the front but we did eventually get to sleep. Would suggest good ear plugs! The restaurant was still closed when we went but as we had rung ahead we had brought breakfast with us. Would stay again as the price was very reasonable for one night.

This hotel has budget prices, with 5 star service. The staff are accommodating and polite. The hotel is clean and looks modern. Thank you Series ( sorry might have spelt name wrong) because of your brilliant hosting skills i will be returning to this hotel. Only 25 mins from Torquay sea front

Our first night was great- room was stocked with tea coffee milk etc , hair /body wash. however the next morning we had a member of staff enter our room despite having the do not disturb sign on, possibly due to another resident turning it around in the night? So not blaming them at all. We went out for the day and came back to find two people smoking weed in the car park which in turn had made our room stink as our (tiny) window was open during the day. Our tea and coffee etc had not been restocked throughout the day either so had to buy more. There was visible mould and cracks in the bathroom as well as an exposed wire on the towel heater. The lino was coming up of the floor and was squeaking. We felt uneasy as our door would not lock and ended up leaving a day early and going to a premier inn. The bar and restaurant was advertised but never seemed to be open, also seemed like no staff were available at all. We also rang the hotel after the doors were locked and they gave us the code without even taking our name or proof we were staying which didn’t make us feel too safe at all.

The manager was absolutely lovely explained everything that we needed to know, helped with booking my car in and extended our stay more than once due to having work done at our home. The room was lovely and clean and the house keeper she was lovely and friendly. Would stay again with out a doubt

The gentleman who checked us in was nice, though it seems he may have been the only member of staff at the hotel as he mentioned working housekeeping duties too? The restaurant was closed for refurbishment so we walked round to the hotel next door for food. The rooms were noisy, we could hear a fellow guest snoring through the wall.

Great hotel to explore the Devon Area.

A perfect hotel, as a base to explore the local area, or if on route to Cornwall. Certainly value for money, and would use again if I needed to. Though there are very little facilities in the local area (Walking Distance) for families, but ideal for somewhere to sleep after days out.
