There are many small picturesque fishing communities in Tjörn, including Klädesholmen and Skärhamn with many nice restaurants. Boats sail to the nearby islands of Åstol and Dyrön. For art lovers, there is the famous watercolour museum in Skärhamn and the Pilarne sculpture park on the north-west side of the island, which offers a varied art and nature walk. There are many wonderful bathing spots on the island and also opportunities to try out water sports such as kayaking and stand-up paddling. You can go shopping in Stenungssund, where there is a large selection of shops.
