Modern Mountain Home w/Fast Wifi, Spacious Decks, Pool Table - Silverheels Chalet

Silverheels Chalet is a mountain dream home. The care taken in this new build keeps in mind the Great Outdoors with hardy finishes, but also the comfort needed at the end of the day. The Great Room has floor to ceiling windows that let you sit and enjoy dining, relaxation, and cooking with the Mountain wonder just beyond. There is gas fireplace that is easy to light and add the cozy comfort of a fire, without the challenge of building one. Above the mantle is a large flat screen television with satellite programming. This has a modern kitchen with all the appliances you could want, even a wine cooler. There is an island that helps with extra seating, but also be part of the culinary inventions! The dining area is next to the amazing views, but still part of the open feeling. There is comfortable lounging area for those who are better at supervising the activities then participating. There is a 1/2 bath right off of the Great Room, no reason to traipse through the Master.

The Master offers a new King Bed, couch for lounging, large flat screen television and a marvelous en-suite Master Bath. There is a large soaking tub, and spacious walk-in shower and a double vanity. Top of the line bath facility. Coming is the new Bristlecone custom furniture, just didn't get finished yet. There is a dresser and walk in closet to store your vacation supplies.

The downstairs is the extra large game room with another living space. There is a queen sofa bed in the game room, ask if you need to use. This is where if you want to build a wood fire, you can do so in the wood stove. Yet another large flat screen television with satellite programming. Two table areas to play games and have snacks, pool table to challenge each other to the game of the evening. This area is quite large and can be the teenagers and grown adults to enjoy!

The Queen bedroom has comfortable new bed with Aspen framing, flat screen television with programming, and comfortable lounging chair. Also a large dresser and closet for your vacation activities. Right next door is the bunk bed room, one more flat screen television with a lounge chair, dresser, and closet. Between the bedrooms there is the combination tub/shower with plenty of hot water.

The property is fantastic and has everything you could need and an extra bonus is that everything is organized. Our teenage sons loved the pool table and we had plenty of room for our family of 5 plus our golden retriever. We had no issue with the altitude and just kept hydrated and took it easy on our first day to get acclimated. We hiked the nearby Pika trail twice and it was easy to access the great fishing in Fairplay, day trip to Breckenridge, the Royal Gorge, and white water rafting. The area is gorgeous and while the unpaved road adds time to and from, we had no issues with our GMC Acadia and Kia Telluride. I usually took the County Road 14 route as that seemed the quickest and we were able to see moose in the meadow. Overall, the road was a small price to pay for the solitude and tranquility of the area. In terms of amenities, the washer/dryer was handy and the dishwasher and beverage fridge/wine cooler were great to have. The Weber grill fired up quickly and was easy to use and had plenty of size with 5 burners and a side burner. Check in and out was super easy and we had no issues throughout the stay. I would highly recommend this property!

Great stay in high alpine environment

The house is very nice & clean. Beds are comfy. House is as represented in photos. One suggestion would be to add extra blankets. This is a high alpine environment at a high elevation 11,400. You will travel nearly 5 miles down a dirt road. You won’t see any neighbors from the cabin & will have an amazing view off the large deck. It is very peaceful & quiet with lots of wildlife. It is about 30-40 to get to Breckenridge. A thunderstorm rolled through, & the power went out as well as the water (well water) for about 5 hours. I text the property manager, & they were quick to respond to let me know the area had an outage & sent a link for me to check on the outage in the area. If you love being secluded and high in the mountains amongst the trees, then you will love this home. We did see moose on three different occasions, which we loved. Overall a great stay, & I recommend it as a great place to stay.

A perfectly, secluded family retreat!

Our family of 4, plus dog, stayed here for 7 nights & embraced the seclusion. This cabin is nestled in the woods, offering complete wilderness serenity, yet it has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Very spacious & clean. Check-in/out process was flawless, hosts were friendly, responsive to questions, and communicative. There were some food items, seasonings, coffee, laundry det, left from previous guests, which was helpful. We did bring additional trash bags, paper towels, and dry foods to help cut costs. As mentioned by previous guests, the 4.5-mile dirt road to the cabin is rough & bumpy. It wasn’t pleasant having no curtains in the Master Bdrm as sunlight blazed thru @ 0530. Also, we had to place both our pillows into one pillowcase as they were not great. Tylenol/electrolyte pkts to stay hydrated as it helps w/alt.sickness. City Market has canned Boost Oxygen if needed. South Park City in Fairplay is rich in history as you can walk into each building. The Fairplay Beach is great for kayaking, fly-fishing, and has trails. You can purchase a fishing license, not cheap, at Ty’s Fly-N-Tackle. In Breckinridge, take the FREE Gondola Peak 8 & enjoy Alpine Slide/Coaster. They do offer a 10% Military discount. We had dinner at the delicious South Park Saloon in Alma. HIGHLY RECOMMEND rafting the Browns Canyon down the beautifully clear Arkansas River with American Adventures Expedition! Afterwards, grab a day pass to one of the Hot Springs to relieve sore muscles.

Beautiful mountain property

This was a very beautiful home with very beautiful mountain scenery all around! The home was clean, well-kept, and there were a lot of thoughtful details for guests, like labels on things, a little basket of things for dogs, etc. We really appreciated being able to park our car in the garage since it was snowing while we were there. We loved our stay and would come back again!here!

1st: property is amazing , views are perfect. Could use a better pool table, dont expect a nice pool hall type table. 2nd: If coming in winter months , you need TRUE 4X4 and all terrain rated tires. We aaw several awd vehicles stuck suvs crossovers etc so dont feel condident in yo yojr awd honda pilot..this mountain with snow or during snowfall is no joke.3rd: this elevation is 12000 feet! Elevation sickndss is terrible , we had trouble sleeping , headachsa , nausea.. so inrecommend renting an o2 extractor as soon as you get there so you can mitig a te these afdects before they kick inOverall great place for a winter retreat

Perfect, realxing Thanksgiving

The house was bigger than it appeared online. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out. But it also felt cozy when we would come together for meals or to watch a movie. We had a issue with one of the dining room chairs and the property manager responded quickly and said they would take care of it. Check in and out was very easy. The views of the surrounding mountains were beautiful. The only complaint was there was a wine fridge but no wine opener. Not a big deal though, we figured it out!

Very nice place/comfy beds

The place is very updated. The bathrooms are super nice. The bed we slept on was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in at vrbo or hotel in a long time. The area was great and my husband hiked the Pika trail and Pennsylvania mountain all from the house. It was a great place and we enjoyed our time. Thank you for letting us stay!

Amazing Cabin for a family with teens

The Chalet was everything listed and more! You DO need patience and good shocks to make the 15+ min drive up beautiful mountain roads to the property. Everything you can think of is provided- fully stocked kitchen and utensils. If I HAD to be picky I would have brought a comfy blanket from home to snuggle on the couch at night- but that’s about it! Our family loved every second spent here!

BEAUTIFUL!

What a wonderful week we had at Silverheels Chalet! The home is beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking. We loved the outside deck and spent a great deal of time there with the grandchildren blowing bubbles, reading stories, and having picnics. Communication was quick and easy with the owner. Questions were answered promptly. We appreciated the Welcome Manual and all of the information that it contained. Thank you for a family vacation packed full of awesome memories.

Beautiful Home

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The 4 mile bumpy dirt road to get there is rough, but we loved the views up at 11,500 ft elevation! The home is beautiful and comfortable with incredible views of the snow-top mountains. We stayed in June/July, so the weather was cool and nice. We did have lots of mosquitos in the evenings, so we didn't sit on that beautiful deck as much as we'd have liked to. We also had to figure out balancing the heat/ac, downstairs was usually cold - but we managed to close some vents upstairs so it worked out. Saw a moose nearby every day and loved walking to the Pika Trail close by. Cute little town of Fairplay, and great fishing there! Thanks for sharing your home.

If you are looking for solitude, this the place. Location is perfect with great views. Trails right around the corner. House met all our needs and then some. Recommend you drink plenty of water and bring some Tylenol as at 11,400 feet may cause some headaches for us flatlanders. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful and secluded house with stunning views!

This place was amazing and surpassed our expectations. Super quiet and secluded, it was a peaceful and a relaxing stay. The roads leading to the house are a bit bumpy and wet but if you have the proper vehicle it’s no problem. As for the views - they are gorgeous- you can see the mountain tops from the deck. The people at the rental company that run the place were super nice too. We had one small issue with the hot water but they resolved really quickly. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again.

Peaceful GetawayX

This property was amazing! It was super clean and had everything you would possibly need. We came up with our two dogs to hike and enjoy the peacefulness and that is exactly what we got. All our questions were answered promptly. Our dogs absolutely loved being out on the deck sniffing all the sniffs. The road on the way up and down is really bumpy so definitely make sure you have the right vehicle. The property though was really great! We were gone all day and mainly used the house to sleep and eat. We did not use the downstairs, but the bed upstairs was really comfortable. The gas fireplace upstairs really heated up the room. The stars at night! They are so bright and seem so close! Looking up at night was one of my favorite parts of staying at this property. We are from the hustle and bustle of Chicago area, so it was great to decompress!

Happy 54!

The home is in a beautiful location just the road sucks I strongly suggest a 4x4 or a SUV. I had to do laundry daily so my family had clean towels. The last thing I want to worry about is washing towels daily for showers while on vacation!!. Only had 3 rolls of TP for 4 adults 6 nights 7 days. I had to wipe down the bathtub and around the toilets as there were hairs all around it. The view is awesome and watching the birds was great, however, we had about 10 birds fly into the upper windows and knock them self dingy. The last morning there we had 5 birds fly into the windows I recommend putting up windchimes or something up to detour the birds from flying into the windows!! The elevation is another thing to consider. Altitude sickness is real and it sucks!! Overall, the house was fine not what any of us really pictured. I recommend getting someone who pays attention to detail to clean. I wish I could give 4.5 but I can only give it a 4 out of 5. The check in was flawless and so was checkout. I would definitely rent from the management company again!! All of us have lasting memories from this vacation, Thank You!! One more thing, the wildlife was awesome to watch. Moose, deer, elk, coyotes and a bear.. So cool!!

Beautiful mountain get away!

The home was perfect for our stay. It was beautiful and clean, and in a great location for making our day trips. There were also many good hiking trails near by. The views from the deck were spectacular! Watching the sunrise and the weather roll in and out over the mountains was awesome! We even had several inches of heavy wet snow our last day, and seeing the pine bows draped in white was just beautiful. Would definitely recommend and would love to visit again!

Nice cabin in the mountains

This is a lovely cabin/house in a beautiful mountain setting. Check-in check-out was a breeze. The house definitely feels like a rental and not a home if that is important to you. It is minimalist. That said everything we needed was on hand. The deck overlooks the road. Fortunately there is not a lot of traffic. The view is beautiful from the deck and there is a nice little hiking trail just up the road. I would have liked more seating for the deck. There were just 2 uncomfortable chairs and a double seated chair. Overall very nice!
