It’s a Modern Golf Resort in the Middle of a Forest with brand new renovated rooms with plenty of space. Outside on my balcony, I can have birds chirping, fogs by the creek and fresh air. Yet, my room is modern with USB plugs, shower, spa bathtub, light sensor closets & more. Should be listed as 4 star or 3 and 1/2. Free Parking is also another boost as I just paid $40 dollars parking at Hilton in Costa Mesa. The two things missing are a microwave and a screen door.

Things to be aware of/prepare for

Upon check in we found out there was no breakfast during the week, the one restaurant closes at 7pm, and the pool and jacuzzi were closed. In room you are given bare essentials (1 bar of hand soap- no other soap/shower gel) shampoo/ conditioner and lotion. There is a small fridge, no microwave. Luckily we live in the city so went back to get our own toiletries, and out to the grocery store for breakfast, creamer and coffee. Other than a market and burger place other restaurants/ stores are about 10-20 minutes away. Be prepared to bring your own things as well. Luckily food delivery services can deliver as well. We were looking for a relaxing staycation, the room was clean enough, we were told they were just renovated, that does not seem to have included the mattress/bed. Very uncomfortable on the back. The grounds are lovely, and perhaps coming for a golf weekend it would've been satisfactory but for our purposes it was not at all what we had hoped for unfortunately.

A gem that needs polish

The pros: pleasant wait staff, good food, pretty area. The cons: terrible black top in parking lot and lanes, dismal dirt bank in front of our room which did not resemble the photo, an hour wait for our food at the restaurant, grimy looking grout/tile in our bathroom. Could be a gem, needs work, there’s an upcoming renovation
