Very clean in all areas. Excellent shower. Comfy bed. Good hotel for overnight stay when going from Southampton on a cruise. The adjacent Solent Hotel has lovely gardens and bar and restaurant which you can use. Continental breakfast was more than adequate and good quality. This was our second stay and will definately go again.

The hotel in general was very nice, clean and modern. We were a little bit disappointed with the check in as there was a mistake in the system. We have booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children, confirmed in the email. Unfortunately, during check in I've been told that there is no room for us due to the system mistake and been advised to check in another building if the can offer as the room, as the main building was fully booked, which was totally unacceptable.

Great accommodation, easy check in, pleasant staff at restaurant next door - food not so great, but ok for what it was. We stayed in the Marriot Highcliff Bournemouth for a few days after visiting you and your accommodating beat it hands down! Would return without a doubt.

Needs to listen to customer requests

Pros: - modern - clean - unfussy - position - comfortable
Cons: Listening to customer needs -respecting requests Check in needs changing as unclear for visitors and frustrating, long wait Room maintenance issues
I requested a quiet room, as I like to open window for fresh air to sleep. So I was given ground floor, front (pub/lodge carpark) facing room, immediately next to lodge/pub entrance, with the smoking point infront of window. Could not have been worse fir me. Open windows meant noise from cars, motorbikes and people walking past, as well as footfall to and from not just lodge but Parsons Collar pub AND smoke coming in from smokers. There were no other rooms when I asked, though I'm not convinced the staff member made much effort - after all I checked in only 30minutes after check in opening. The room itself was modern and comfortable, but no task lightling to put on makeup (circular mirror in bathroom was broken) and shower leaked all over the floor and by looks of skirting had been doing so for a while. Distinct lack of communication here, as you dont know that you have to check in, in the pub, and wait quite some time to do so as bar staff busy serving food and drinks, before they have a chance to deal with lodge customers. Complementary continental breakfast is unfussy but very nice - be sure to ask for a freshly brewed coffee though, rather than that in the canteen style urn. Position is really good, with Whiteleys shopping near and Spa next door. I would stay again, if I could be certain of securing a rear facing upper floor room next time.
