Sliding downhill, not terrible......yet.

Hotel is in decline and its really starting to show. It's not terrible but it's obvious that nobody "cares" anymore or has pride in the property. Usually when this starts to show places drop quickly and that's what I see here. The room we had, had multiple little things going on that they knew about but hadn't been fixed. Specifically, a hole in the wall from the door handle, unpainted repairs around the shower curtain rod, tub drain not working, and the toilet wobbling. All little things that hadn't been cared to be handled. The room also smelled dank and musty, but the windows do not open so there was no way to get some air in and breathe life into the place. After two days here I felt terrible and sick and just awful, lethargic. The fabric on the chairs in the room where disgusting, and obviously uncleaned for a very long time. All these things are just not that major of issues but together show the lack of attention and focus on taking pride in the property and business. Have stayed here many times but will not consider it again unfortunately as location is convenient.

I think we were placed in “the noisy” room because of the rate we got. It was ok for us. The fan in the room - I’ve honestly never experienced anything like it at a hotel! Was quite loud and every once in awhile it would sound like someone was whipping a giant sword around! This metal grinding sound anyway. All in all clean and breakfast decent. Beds 7/10. I’d go back but there’d be many people who couldn’t stand that fan noise. We are pretty carefree so it was ok. Would have been better without it however.

It is overall very nice hotel & convenient to the Sanford Hospital, which is where we had to go. They need to update carpets in the room & hallways plus there was tile missing in bathroom.

I love the microtel brand and stay in them if there’s a hotel in the town I’m visiting. They’re my favorite road trip hotel and I roadtrip for work often in the US and CA. This one did not live up to the brand expectations I had. The hotel was clean but lacked in professionalism. The front desk clerk came to the counter in leggings and a hoodie with beats pods in her ears. The hotel also hosts the USA youth hockey league so there were kids running up and down the halls until late at night and very early in the morning. I’m used to this brand being more business travel guests so maybe it was a fluke. I also had an employee knock on my door at 11pm to check if the water was running. It was a very cold night so I understand the concern, but at 11pm? Still a fan of the brand but likely won’t stay at this location again.

Upon check in, we were told our room was not ready as were 3 other families that were waiting for their rooms. Clearly not enough help at this hotel. We felt bad for the gal at the check in desk because she is overwhelmed and trying her best to be accommodating to guests. It was our unfortunate luck that there are many many hockey families staying as well. Many children running up and down the halls, pounding on doors while their parents party in their rooms.
